What If McCain Loses?

If, God forbid, that tragic day were to come, what would the Right be doing?

First and foremost, conservatives would be too busy working (somebody has to pay for the massive wealth transfer programs Obama wants to implement) to go out in the streets with giant puppet heads and “ObamaHitler” signs.

Nor would we be inclined to threaten riots, unlike some liberals who have essentially promised Rodney King verdict-style bedlam in the streets if Barack Obama loses. Also, conservatives love our country too much to make empty threats about moving to Canada, which is essentially just a less free, more liberal version of Massachusetts anyway.

However, you can expect people to get a little nuttier.

Course, Obama will tax it away.

Larry, once the messiah gets through, will we be able to afford to hire Joe the Plumber, assuming he's still working, of course?

Move to a more conservative state; contribute to a political action committee that will support and defend the 10th amendment.

It will probably begin about the time Obama and company shove through the first bad piece of socialist-inspired legislation. Regrettably, that is likely to be the first moment this utter disaster for the country will become real to millions of conservatives.

Real to conservatives?!?! WE already know it's all too real.

The first thing a Leftist Supermajority will do is pass laws that shut up the opposition. How specifically can Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, not to mention all those local conservative talk radio folks across the country prepare for the inevitable "Fairness Doctrine" and what can we do, if anything, to prevent it?

I believe Obama will “lose” it these last 3 weeks and I bet he will lose it with people like Joe the Plumber, API and the so called “weak.”

Well, to be completely honest...we are looking at several loctions outside the country to live and invest until he is outed after four years. I know...I know...that is not supposed to be patriotic. But you have to admit that what we have seen during this election, especially what they have done to Joe the Plumber in just two days, do you relly think an Obama presidency will allow freedom of speech? Not to mention the lie that was told about the woman in Lufkin, TX that sent the Secret Service to her home. And, of course, the lie about someone yelling ‘kill him’ at a Palin rally. That has turned out to be false, yet all McCain supporters were profiled because one obscure liberal journalist lied their azz of based on that journalist’s political views.

Now...we all know who Ayers, Farakhan, Rezko, and Odinga are. Where is the exposure? All we have out there now are thought police and a rabid group of people who want to control us. That is not America.

I don't think these “What if...” articles are helpful or appropriate. Seriously considering defeat as a possibility handicaps your efforts in sports, politics, and life in general. We'll deal with anything that comes our way. being more specific than that when there are only three weeks to go before Election Day is a bad a idea and in insult to all the people working feverishly to elect McCain/Palin.

I feel sorry for this guy. He reminds me of John O’Neill and the swiftboat guys, who were scorned when they went out to speak. I heard O’Neill here at UD, and half the questions were nasty, long harangues that began with “As a baby killer, how did you . . . .”

I think that if there's an attempt to shove socialism down our throats, the liberals in the House and Senate will have a lot more to worry about than just having their feet held to the proverbial fire... like having them held to an actual fire. I know this is a popular view here, and I reject it. Even in a Nobama administration, the U.S. won't end. Quite the contrary, he'll be such a disaster that G. W. Bush will go down as a great president in comparison. I give a Nobama administration two years before you get GOP majorities in each house.

But I don't think he'll win. I'm darn confident he won't win OH. Can't speak for CO, VA, or FL.

I am concerned that many “part-time voters” — which I define as people who think this choice has no more lasting importance than voting on American Idol — see this election as a decision between Obama and McCain.

And they couldn’t be more wrong or ignorant.

This is a crossroads for the entire nation and its future. We will either maintain the core values that make us the most envied nation in the world; or, we will abandon those beliefs to embrace the ideologies that have ensured the rest of the world’s deterioration.
