Well, good news! It looks like I need to move from L.A. to another part of the state. Heck, even San Diego is more “red” than the likes of L.A. and San Francisco.
If not for LA and SF, California would be a very red state. Look at the county-by-county breakdown of recent elections if you get the chance.
There’s room in Fresno. :-) I’m an Orange County transplant. I don’t meet many liberals either, other than my boss, who is surprising cool for a liberal.
I'm about halfway from LA to San Diego and it seems pretty "red" around here! I was on a plane coming back from Phoenix to Ontario over the weekend and two guys standing in the boarding line next to me for Southwest Airlines were very passionate conservatives like I am...like I said it is just my personal experience.....and I actually look for Obamabots so that I can challenge them but just can't seem to run in to any!

The native Californians -- especially outside of the big cities -- are mostly Conservatives. But the transplants and the big city people -- Bay Areans, Los Angelenos -- are mostly Libs. Anywhere that can be yuppified, produces idiots. The rest of us produce the fruits of our labors and are Conservatives!
