After taking criticism for standing by for days while his supporters grew increasingly unhinged and hysterical, John McCain did the right thing today, telling his supporters that there's no need to be "scared" of a president Obama and calling on them to be "respectful" towards him.
We have two videos for you from the same event. Here's vid of McCain saying that you needn't fear Obama: "He is a decent person, and a person that you do not have be scared as President of the United States"...

If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun, Obama said in Philadelphia last night. Because from what I understand, folks in Philly like a good brawl. Ive seen Eagles fans.
I heard that McCain got booed when he said it.
And rightfully, so.
Is it too Pollyannish to ponder McCain stepping down,
Palin going to the top of the ticket and bringing Giuliani, Thompson or Romney as her VP ??
I live in a state McCain threw overboad so I’m voting for Hunter.
I have to agree with Crimson Elephant. The MSM would love to have McCain inciting things to try and sway the “undecideds”.
The media has already declared the coronation of The One. Combine that with the FIRST candidate to refuse public financing of his campaign (with friends like Doodad Pro and Good Will sending him $200 at a time dozens of time), and voter fraud on a massive level it is tough to beat.
I’m going to read Revelations tonight just in case (although it doesn’t mention Barack by name).
poor Sarah Palin :(
i’m sad now
I’m not much of a fan but in fairness to him he has known the hell of a communist prison of war camp.
Yep. They play dirty, real dirty. We have to keep pounding the media, utilize EVERY opportunity to seize their call-in's and do anything and everything we can to get the real messages out there.
Same ol mclame! Easy to critize supporters, slooooow to say anything about the other side. Can’t we just get along????
Just when we are teased that he’s going to tell how the cow ate the cabbage, back he goes to mr. bi-partisan. Would sure like to say much more but don’t care to have the thought police come visiting.
You think he’s parlaying a Cabinet spot with nobama????? What else makes sense?
What’s interesting is that his media advisors haven’t gotten that message. His latest TV ad can be linked from this thread:

McCain wasn’t my first choice but unless you want to finish off America with Obama, folks need to stop jumping
off a cliff at every frickin comment.
Palin is onboard because she knows this is our last chance.
I don't think McCain expected this outburst of frustration. I think Obama may be a bit cowed by it too, no matter what a big Chicago hustler Obama is. They are frightened.
I’d forgotten .Can’t believe he repeated it.
We’ll see if McCain remains respectful when he goes back to the Senate and President 0bama tries to impose his far left agenda. When 0bama and the big Demo majorities run roughshod over the GOP we’ll see how McCain reacts then. I hope he doesn’t want to switch parties.
Oh yeah, sure he will. He will get a real bounce like he did last week.
Downright funny, that is.
stockpirate: “And we should be respectful, and not act like the DUs.”
Yes, be respectful... You know, Obama isn’t just talking about how he plans to serve as president under the US Constitution. He’s proposing to turn this country into the very thing it was purposely designed to avoid. He wants us to be just another socialist nation in a world full of the same. And, it’s not like we can opt out here. They, the left, don’t allow dissent.
I'm so tired of this as an excuse. Is the media biased? Heck yeah! But, McCain, Bush, and a whole lot of them are socialist "nice guys" who are ruining the country by not offering an alternative to the communism Obama spews! It's time that Republicans go back to their SMALL GOVERNMENT, conservative roots and that they also start getting to the point about their "friends from across the isle."
