“Oil breaks below $85!”

Best economic news I’ve heard in a good long time.

I’ve seen it around $3.30 or so here in the Seattle area, and it’s been falling more all week.

This is really good news. It’s one very important cost that struggling businesses don’t need just now. Cheaper gas is going to make the difference for some of them.

Brent Crude is currently @ $82.66/bbl. WTI should follow tomorrow. Regular unleaded wholesale is now @ $1.98/gal.

Except that OPEC has called an emergency meeting to stop falling crude prices. They’re going to tighten the noose.

Remember when gas was going up how every local TV talking head was filmed standing in front of a gas station? Do you see any coverage on your local news now? Hummmmm.

Maybe congress should bail out ‘Big Oil’. They sure are quick to want to take their profits that they mistakenly relate to higher oil wholesale prices.

The best news is that this means less money for terrorist supporters like Iran, Russia and Venezuela.
