“I curse the day I was ever bored by U.S. politics.”
My husband told a friend the same thing, about me, at lunch. A lady called Rush, yesterday, and husband said I would have sworn it was you. Glad to know we’re not the only ones.

No longer on Drudge. If true, I can speculate on several different reasons why he would do this. He has become aware of a major disclosure about him and wants the time to address or deflect it, e.g., Ayers, New Party associations, birth ceretificate issue, Michelle whitey tape, etc. Or he wants to make a final case to the public realizing that it is a close race and he needs to close the deal by trying to allay concerns about him and his background. It could be the last playing of the race card. He must be awash in money.
It would be interesting to learn what dates he wants to get prime time. I can't imagine him doing it at different times. I hope Sean, Rush, Mark, and others offer McCain free time to rebut whatever Obama may say.

I thought I had seen mention of October 29 as the date he wanted.

and kcm.org taking a shot a a ministry. click on their screen name and you will see the account has been suspended Actually, I went back and read some of kcm.org's other posts and his Gov. Palin tagline seems to be related to the fact that he thinks her selection as McCains running mate de-railed what Obama thought was going to be a landslide for him.
He seems to think that George Soros, Warren Buffet, T. Boone Pickens and some of that scum engineered this financial crisis timing to get Obama back in the game.
It's not unthinkable. So, theres a chance that this guy might be legit. Or maybe I misread it all...it's late here and I'm sleepy. ;-)
I still don't understand the Christian myth comment, though.

I think either of the scenarios you both highlighted could very well happen.
Things could get very ugly for Obama if the Feds indite ACORN, especially. This would be a story the MSM would be forced to cover.
My only other thought is that this buy is just another example of the One's megalomania, as he brings his wise and healing words to a nation in need on the eve of the election.
The Obama campaign has criticized McCain for his “hail Mary” strategy. I don't see how this is anything but the move of a campaign with serious doubts. This smells of desperation.

It's exactly what the McCain campaign should do. Not so much for him, but for Palin. Let her give a powerful speech.

It’s still on Drudge. It’s in the middle column now, it’s just no longer at the top of the page.

If October 29 is the date, then it probably is not time sensitive to the state of economy. It could also be a head fake, i.e., he is purposely leaking this date to intimate the McCain campaign if they decide to drop an October surprise on him. Obama either knows something is up and wants to have time to explain it or he is trying to discourage it being brought up. Another possibility is that he has an October surprise himself.
Obama could cancel the spot at any time so he has the spot hanging over the head of the McCain campaign, which must now calculate a strategy to deal with it whether it happens or not. Money is the mother's milk of politics.

Thanks just saw it. I notice the story mentions that Perot did something similar in 1992. I forgot all about that. CBS and NBC spokespersons declined comment

Yes. I have little doubt this is what is happening.
The only question for me, is how successful will they be?
For the first time, in maybe forever, I am really pretty worried.
