MEMORABLE MOMENTS FROM THIS TOWN HALL DEBATE - BE PROUD!
Free Republic | October 6, 2008 | Self and Free Republic Folk

Posted on 10/07/2008 8:01:22 PM PDT by casinva

There are other threads here that point out some of the disappointments of this town hall debate.

There are other threads that denounce Senator John McCain along with Barack Obama.

There are other threads that provide an outlet to cry and declare defeat.

Well, Free Republic Folk, I for one, am NOT willing to concede. I am not willing to see just the bad without seeing the good. I am not willing to give ONE inch to that terrorist loving, slim associating, undeserving domestic thug while we still have an honorable man who gave real truth, real character and real leadership this evening.

I know many of you were disappointed with this town hall debate.

However, I know many of you saw the GOOD as well.

Do NOT use this thread to declare a loss to John McCain's campaign. There are other threads if you want to do that.

Use this thread to share the memorable moments you noticed or experienced from this debate!

Whether it is a memorable moment you experienced from something John McCain said or a jab you noticed that hurt Barack Obama, share it here!

This is the thread to remember what we have to choose from: John McCain or Barack Obama.

Bambi did no win this debate, therefore it was not McCains to lose. Did I agree with everything, no. There is no need to panic. I feel Sarah will be the bad cop in this and this the attack dog. I would have loved to have seen McCain attack, but alas he did not. The contrast was obvious.

Oh, for the record, bambi did not explain how he was going to pay for his plans and he stated that this was a bad time for businesses and they, if not helped would begin to lay off people. (ie middle class) But, stated he was going to tax any one or business making more than $250.00.

Bambi was running around like a child chasing a rabbit.

I yelled at the screen when Zero said basically “If we could have done anything to stop the Holocaust...”

We did, you dumb know nothing! We went to war with that paper hanging son of a bitch, and stopped him from finishing his evil work with the blood of American patriots!

I'm just relieved McCain didn't blow it, with something ridiculous.

The problem is the clueless American public, the illegal alien voters, the druggie voters, the homeless voters, the dead voters, the foreign money donators to BHO... form over substance.

Since when did "charisma" take the place of substance, turht, experience, integrity, character.... I know, I know, don't tell me.

The local news’ followed up their debate report with poll numbers in key battleground states, all showing Obama up by five points or more. I guess they like rubbing salt in the wounds.

Well we didn’t get much in this debate. It was boring. It was like bad sex.

you know, he may end up losing the debate. I was impressed that he was far smoother, therefore won the debate on style. But it is to Obama that people are turning and he offered them nothing.

Snoozefest, therefore Obama wins. Obama is on cruise control at the moment and McCain did nothing to change the course of the race. The debate format, boring questions and Brokaw did nothing to enhance McCain’s stature either.

I don't buy it either. How come Gallup is WAY out there, more so than Zogby and a few others. Yet they chose the audience of undecideds (FOX)

Yet right, I can pick a dim by just looking at them and that room was full of them

I agree. I am sick of the negativity. It’s not over until it’s over.

Well then if we are up to 12 posts (more now) and can not see the good parts here, then we Free Republic Folk need to start looking for knock out drag out punches for entertainment and start looking harder for the good character and leadership John McCain showed this evening. As one poster said (and I’m sorry I am not remembering who that was right now, but you spoke to me there, “Friend” :), we saw a person whom we could trust tonight.

OK there guys, so if you can not see the memorable moments, then start looking harder for real moments instead of entertaining moments. (Although those are good too, I’ll admit!) LOL

Is Sarah also going to tell John that we can’t afford to buy up and rewrite everyone’s mortgage?

I DVR'd the debate so I'm still in the process of watching it. Not too impressed with either of them so far. McCain seems REALLY nervous, he's been using "My friends" a lot and I think he does this when he's really uncomfortable. Of course the media has been hyping this as the moment that it is essential for him to perform well so who wouldn't be uncomfortable?

I signed up for Rush 25/7 for the next 2 months, it's only $6.95 a month and it has been my psychotherapy. Rush is absolutely the most optimistic person on this election that I have heard and he keeps me grounded and helps me put all of the media bias in perspective.

Once you've turned on the political obsession it can never be turned off, believe me I've tried. I wish I could be more like my dh and just show up on election day and vote for who I tell him to vote for.

You mentioned: The pundits wanted fresh material to discuss for the next week and were disappointed by the lack thereof.

I’ll agree on that!

It might have been a little more exciting with free material, and how could you NOT have that when the American public supposedly provided real life questions from real life people, but we had what we had, and there WAS good that came out of it too for our side.

A couple of those ladies in the audience were clearly bedazzled by the Obamanation...hanging on and smiling at his every word. One particularly sitting near the top of one of those rows.

No way were some of those folks, undecided.

But that's alright. McCain, despite his unbelievably socialistic plan for housing, scored some good point on Obama where they needed scoring, particularly about Obama's direct ties to the economic crisis.

Like I said, I just really hope Sarah Palin keeps revamping her vaunted Moose hunting skills into the biggest Jack-Ass hunt of all time. And there's nothing but a target rich environment for her with the MSM and in Washington, DC.

SARAH PALIN IS DRAWING HUGE CROWDS AT RALLIES ALL ACROSS THE NATION

Man this is going to be a ground game. McCain has one more debate. Too bad it isn’t going be a tag team cause he needs it. McCain needs more contrast and the questions that Brokaw chose were not only awful but almost perfectly chosen to create a re-run of the first debate. Why in the hell have that stupid Pakistan question again? Why in the hell does McCain keep answering it the awkward was he does? Geesh whoever is preparing him for these debates needs to be fired.

How much is the fine?

That one.

I have spent my life putting my country first.

America has spilt precious blood to promote democracy around the world.

America is the greatest country in the world. (with no but after it)

I know what it’s like to have someone pick you up, dust you off and give you hope.

These are paraphrased - can’t remember exact quotes

Hey, I’ll tell you guys ANOTHER REALLY MEMORABLE part of this debate, at least for me.

Obama’s A-A-A-N-N-N-N-N-N-D-Ds!!!

Well, that’s a good question AAAANNNNNNNNNDDDDNNNNDDDDDD, well, I’m a big fat lier and I have all the right answers.

Well, Senator McCain and I disagree on that because AAAAAANNNNNNNNDDDDDNNNDDDDD, ER ANNNNDDDDDNNNDDDD ....

It was almost like chalk on a blackboard.

Now if you want memorable, THAT certainly was for me.

I thought McCain did very well when he said that he had been on board a nuclear naval vessel and it was very safe - and that we need to build Nuclear Power Plants and they are safe.

Also thought he really hammered Obama on his helping the middle class lie by stating that when Obama ran for his senate seat he “promised to help the middle class” and yet not 1 time has Obama even brougt up legislation since getting elected to help the middle class or give them a tax cut.
