Is it just me, or did McCain perhaps blow it all on this proposal to buy up all the bad mortgages? He really blew it badly there. While he was going on about mortgages repeatedly, Obama went back to the overall economy. Meanwhile, he turned off people who who are being asked to cough up public funds to finance someone else's house--even if they don't even own a house themselves!

Details on McCain's mortgage plan that his campaign sent out
here. He limits it to primary residences that can prove they were creditworthy at the time of the original load and paid a down payment. He converts them to fixed rate mortgages. Thus no help for the speculators nor for ACORN and Barney's friends. He uses the pile of cash from the bailout bill to pay for this.
