PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE #2 LIVE THREAD
10/07/08
Posted on 10/07/2008 2:01:24 PM PDT by TornadoAlley3
While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.

McCain is giving a straight, heartfelt answer to the inane question.I agree. All the questions, I think, except the Navy guy's were idiotic.

Ugh...horrible, horrible debate. McCain did bad, really bad. But Obambi was pretty rambling, and stuttering and all over the place towards the end.
You can bet this wasn't a game changer.

I think McCain did quite well. On more than a few occasions “ The One “ was rambling, not making any sense at all.

That was a powerful, powerful closing statement. The number one and number two things people remember in something like this is the last thing said, and the first thing said, in that order.

With all due respect, “undecided” and “independent” voters just means people who aren’t paying attention.
They don’t know whether they are for big government or for limited government. It depends on the suit or the smile or the gut feeling or their personal opinion.

Very nice closing by McCain. I didn’t really follow Obama’s little story, but I’m not going to buy his books to read about it. My loss, I suppose.

I don’t usually watch Brokaw, but he actually did a good job, at least the part of the debate that I watched. This may be one of the rare news anchor performences that the reporter shouldn’t be ashamed of.

Mac held up well and maybe even scored some good hits.
Overall, I think the audience went to sleep.
