Palin a 'disgrace to women' - Bardot

From correspondents in Paris

October 08, 2008 04:22am Article from: Agence France-Presse

FRENCH film star-turned-activist Brigitte Bardot took a swipe at Sarah Palin today, saying the US vice presidential candidate was a disgrace to women.

"I hope you lose these elections because that would be a victory for the world," Bardot wrote in an open letter to Republican John McCain's running mate in the November vote.

"By denying the responsibility of man in global warming, by advocating gun rights and making statements that are disconcertingly stupid, you are a disgrace to women and you alone represent a terrible threat, a true environmental catastrophe," wrote Bardot.

The screen icon from the 1960s, who now heads an animal rights foundation, went on to assail Gov Palin for supporting Arctic oil exploration that could jeopardise delicate animal habitats and for dismissing measures to protect polar bears.

"This shows your total lack of responsibility, your inability to protect or simply respect animal life," Bardot wrote.

OK, besides vapid, vague, anti-Palin statements, I got two substantive issues.

Palin is wrong in saying that Global Warming is not 100% man’s fault.
Palin is wrong to support individual gun rights.

Hmmm... don’t see much of an intellectual argument on BB’s part.

Well, we've heard from the moonbat constituency, and now we've heard from the washed up, old hag, socialist moonbat constituency.

I realize that some of those terms are redundant.

MM Global Warming - the New Religion. Anybody able to photoshop a "Something About Sarah" concept? Gov. Palin just seems to drive leftist women insane. I've never seen such a reaction. Not even with the right's hatred for Hillary. At least with HRC, it was her ideas people hated. But with Palin, they actually hate her as a person, calling her a non-woman and so forth without having even met her. This is politics brought down to the personal.

What she actually said was: “I'm not an Al Gore, doom-and-gloom environmentalist blaming the changes in our climate on human activity.”

What the critics don't realize is that even the UN IPCC doesn't spout “Al Gore, doom and gloom” levels of alarmist twaddle. Gore is actually much further from the “scientific consensus” (as set out in the IPCC reports) than Palin is. Much, much further.

Sadly for Ms Bardot the years have been cruel to her...The woman is hardly an advert for beauty these days.
Ms Bardot is very much involved in animal welfare, i guess dogs will look after dogs.

She was a lousy mother. She gave full custody to the father of her son.

It's always the PETA types who LOVE the animals but have little in their heart for child and embrace every form of abortion.
