What if McCain knows what he's doing?

That would be ideal, because we very strongly want him to win, as opposed to the alternative.

I have been wondering about the seeming ineptness of McCain on the campaign trail, and this piece gives me hope that maybe...just maybe...there is a plan!

Whatever his faults, Johnny Mac is not stupid and he has some smart people working for him.

> Sometimes, if I’m puzzled by someone’s actions, I like to ask myself “if he’s really smarter than I am, why would he be doing what he’s doing?”

McCain definitely knows what he is doing, better than anybody who is trying to second-guess him. He picked Palin (or at least agreed to have her) as his running mate, and that proves that he is alot smarter than most would have given him credit for.

You don’t get to be a dummy and fly fighter jets. Nor get elected Governor. GW Bush did both: McCain did both in Anger.

Everyone ought to settle down and remember that this is an Artificial Mexican Stand-off manufactured by the MSM and the pollsters. Why? There is no money in a landslide for the MSM or the Pollsters: as usual, it is all about money.

So, don’t blink, stick to your guns, and don’t throw up your hands anytime soon: the Dems are rightly afraid of Palin, and they are also afraid of McCain. With bloody good reason in both cases.

Mexican Stand-off, Lads. Settle down, stare them out until they blink and mess their pants.

If he wanted to slam the door shut on this election he should have voted “NO” on the bailout package.

McCain needs to keep the gloves off and stay the course despite anything the MSM says. The silent majority IS listening.

I don’t think there can be any doubt that Sarah is throwing the lead punches, Obama is taking the bait and McCain is taking up the topics once he sees the counter punch. Obama is once again off message and playing defense.

The question in my mind is whether the campaign is leading or following Sarah. IMO, the campaign is following her lead. I think Sarah is like Eskimo toilet paper. She’s rough, tough and is not going to take crap off of nothin’.

Yep voting for the $700 Billion....sorry $850 Billion pork bill and pulling out of Michigan. Brilliant moves. He’s not crazy as a Fox. He’s smart as a Bob Dole! If he doesn’t firmly pull he head out of his ass now, its over!

I still think the winner of this race with be the one who makes the fewest dumb mistakes. And then there’s the possible “Bradley effect” or “Wilder effect” that might be overstating Obama’s support.

But the notion that screw-ups and a hesitancy to make what seem like obvious moves in politics, the notion that it’s a part of some grand, multi-stage, CIA-like strategy that few if any can discern, well I think that’s mostly nonsense.

We heard about one grand strategy after another, understandable by only a few, that was being used by the Fred Thompson campaign. Turned out it was just a bad campaign, but some people tried to explain the baffling action, or inaction, as some grand and complex strategy.

McCain is going to do great tonight; he’ll be totally in his element and Obama will be floundering around, Um...Ah...Hmmm...he’s PAINFUL to watch and listen to without a script.

Watch for McCain to land a few good punches tonight. He knows what’s on the line.

What if McCain knows what he's doing?

Four weeks to go, and lots of rumors that McCain has something big he's going to spring two weeks out.

I think there's a good possibility that McCain is going after Ayers etc now to force Obama to run with whatever he has tucked away on McCain. Like the Keating video that was probably put together months ago. Come the last two weeks of the campaign, if McCain lets lets loose something big, Obama's political revolver may be empty.

Obama was dumb enough to take the bait. Now all his associations are fair game.

Everyone has someone in your family who absolutely HATES losing, even if it’s a game of Parcheesi. That person may be the friendliest guy/gal on the block when a game is not on the line, but during a game, they become possessed.

McCain reminds me of someone like that. He hates losing. You got a glimpse of that after he knew Bush had won the 2000 SC Primary. He blew by Maria Schriver like a bull in a china closet. He was angrier than heck. That event reinforced the template that he was a hothead.

So far this campaign, he has acting very coolly - I think to blunt the hothead accusation. But I’ve been waiting to see that kind of hot head intensity in this campaign, but controlled and aimed at Obama. I hope he’s starting to show it finally.
