Racism, naturally, plays a part in the conversation. "My kids love Obama and they think it's so obvious he should be the president," says actor D. L. Hughley. "I was just honest in saying life isn't always fair and certainly isn't always fair for African-Americans. But Obama has overcome so many obstacles, it's easy to forget reality."
There's not a lot of anger—yet—but you can start to sense the potential for it. "I'm going to be mad, real mad, if he doesn't win," says Daetwon Fisher, 21, a construction worker from Long Beach, Calif. "Because for him to come this far and lose will be just shady and a slap in black people's faces. I know there is already talk about protests and stuff if he loses, and I'm down for that."

They act like Obama winning is just another freakin' entitlement.

But this was his third trial!!! The OJ nonsense is getting too old for people to worry about. Besides, he lost many black supporters after the murder == when he didn’t fawn all over them as they thought he would continue to do. No, he went back to his “white” life and friends and simply moved the party from Brentwood, CA to South Florida. Many of “them” believe OJ turned his back on them, after first encouraging them to flock to him.
The same thing would ultimately happen with Obama, of course. He has lived a “white” life, too, other than marrying the wife he’s got. If he were to win, blacks woul quickly see that he is NOT so much in their corner after all. If he doesn’t cater to their every whim, they will turn on him in a heartbeat.
The Howard Stern bit would be hilarious if it were not so pathetic. Yet it’s true — all the blacks care about is electing someone they think looks like them. I’ll bet there are some who don’t even realize Obama is half white!
That's a sentiment I appreciate.
Neighbor, is your only worth in the amount of melanin your skin holds? Is that Obama's only worth? Do you truly expect everything to be handed to the both of you because you don't need sunscreen?
Must the darkest man win the presidency? Or are we allowed to vote our hearts and minds?
Funny. Yeah. Like all of us on FR would suddenly love a man with ties to Marxism, terrorists, and radicals, as long as he was pink-hued with shiny golden curls.
When I see one of these "It's racism" articles, I think about the racism of one ethnic group voting 90-plus % for a candidate, and how is that not judging someone by skin color, and how is that not about the herd mentality?

My hometown of Jackson Miss had very little rioting....lots of marches though ....yet probably 25 percent of the city proper is now like Detroit or Camden, another 50 percent is like Cleveland and the last 25% are holdouts
The white belt around the city though is very nice and affordable and more conservative than Utah.

I am in Mesquite(Creek Crossing neighborhood) where I teach 3rd grade. We had a discussion about the election a couple of weeks ago in class. My policy is that I do not tell my students who I am voting for, simply because I don’t want any baby mommas raising hell up in the office about me. My class is a couple of white kids, and the rest are 50-50 black and hispanic. Every black kid wants 0bama, and every hispanic kid wants McCain. Of course they are only repeating what their parents are saying but to me this seems promising.
