Looking at hugh panic in global mkts right now. This is vey series.

Australian dollar off almost 8.6% on the day against the USD. One bank said they are seeing literally NO BIDS in the Australian dollar, which is huge considering that you can usually trade several million with the click of a mouse.

Here’s what you could do. With the money you now have in your 401k, you could move it into you plan’s money market account. Then you could keep contributing, because now may be a good time to buy. And that way you will continue getting your company match.

Or, you could open a Roth IRA and invest the money in a money market account or other “safe” investment within the IRA. BUT, keep contributing to the 401k up to the company match, because you don’t want to leave free money on the table.

At your age, you should just keep putting money on a regular basis into your 401k or IRA, keep it in sound funds that you don’t need to manage often (ie, don’t bother looking at them any more than perhaps once/year) and not mess with it.

For someone in your age bracket, the stock market just went on sale. You should avail yourself of the bargain.

I think that you're exactly right. The Republicans have been fooling themselves into believing that as long as the Democrats continue to move to the left, Republicans can stay just to the right of their opponent and can then count on everyone to the left of the Democrat candidate to vote Democrat, everyone to the right of the Republican candidate to vote Republican, and everyone in the middle of the two, they can fight over.

I like Sarah Palin, but I'm not accustomed to voting for a VP despite whoever is at the top of the ticket. Now a Cheney/Palin or Dunca/Palin, or Tancredo/Palin ticket would definitely appeal to me.
