If a Bush-bashing, Republican-hating nincompoop like Alec Baldwin understands that Democrats are responsible for the current financial crisis, and is willing to say so on national television, why can't America's so-called "real" journalists?

I think there is a group of dems who were so in love with Hillary that they are bitter about nobama. Tina Fey/Alec Baldwin are in this group and hate President Bush so they half heartedly support Obama - but I think they feel a one term McCain presidency, dealing with the economic hardships to come, would guarantee their fav in the white house in 1012.....

Alec also made fun of Suzie Orman, the lezbo “taxes are good” talk-show girl. Maybe being a displaced father up against the feminist judicial system has made him start to think. I just saw a pig flying by my window too.

Welcome to FR.

Not sure if your link showed the entire clip of Baldwin (my speakers on on the fritz so I had to listen to a youtube post from my son's computer) - but alec went on to bash President Bush and say only an idiot would vote for McCain....so lets not think he has suddenly seen the light. I still say he must have lost a butt load of money

Jim Gerahagty on National Review (Bill Buckley’s mag) web site Campaign Spot just posted his column where he said McCain-Palin need to show the American public that the financial meltdown was caused primarily by by Fannie & Freddie and the Democrats and Obama were repsonsible. If Obama wins and the Dems gain control of all branches of govt we are screwed.

My Thoughts Not Geraghty’s:
This will happen again and we will be slowly bled to death with income redistribution. Your home, 401-K, IRA, savings, business, job will be devalued like the dollar and you could lose everything.

Fannie and Freddie were essentially reparations or welfare on steriods. Obama will want to take this income redistribution globally. He will open the borders wide open so his financial backers in the ME start an invasion like they did in Western Europe. Oil exporting countries are raking in close to a trillion a year. $500 million in credit card donations mean nothing. We will be energy slaves with Obama, Pelosi and Reid. The joke is we have FOUR times the Saudis reserves in shale oil, coal diesel and ND oil available at $30 a barrel in the lower 48 states. Dems will not let us touch most of it by their laws.

The challenge will be for Repubs to explain Fannie & Freddie to the public. If it is slightly complicated - they glaze over and go watch a football game. Fannie & Freddie were 9/11 Part 2 - the financial version.

Donate and volunteer for McCain-PALIN 2008.

I agree. The Clintons and their supporters will be screwed if Obama wins. Obama controls the party and will keep it if he wins. If he loses, the Clintons get it back.

My hope is Ed Rendell in PA and Richardson in NM will work to make sure Obama does not (ACORN) steal those states.

I think a lot of Hillary Democrats are not going to vote Obama. I know a few.

Gee, has little Mr Baldwin lost a bit of dough in the stock market? Boo Hoo.

NOW he becomes aware that his party is full of thieves and incompetants.

He is probably working on one. Obama has said he is going to tax him at a marginal tax rate of 64% if he gets in. Combine that with a big stock market blow off and you can see why he had a brief moment of sanity..

McCain is Lorne Michaels's favorite Republican, and Lorne Michaels produces Baldwin's show as well as Saturday Night Live. Maybe that's not saying much, but McCain's been on SNL and his daughter was an intern there.

SNL did a very funny and spot-on sketch about the Democrats and the mortgage crisis this weekend, that pointed fingers at Pelosi, Frank, Soros, and the Sandlers, so whatever they think about Bush at NBC, they're not in the dark about the current economic crisis.

It's a hard job being wrong about everything. Sometimes it gets so trying that one breaks down and get things right for once. It looks like that's what happened to Alec.

I'm glad that Baldwin never read the things that we said about him, since that could have kept him from coming to this realization.

The only message I get from this is that Baldwin realizes that he is as vulnerable as "main street" when it comes to financial stability.
His IQ must be over 70; I am surprised.

Unless he keep his entire net worth inside his mattress.

What his home address? Anybody know?

Also of note SNL had a skit last nite that pointed the finger at Barney and other dims ... tina and alec work together.

Amazing to see a skit that put the blame on Pelosi and Frank. I couldn't believe NBC put that on. I was thinking the reason must be that they get bigger ratings when they mock the Dems.

FOX is rerunning “Saving the Economy...” at 2 EST this afternoon and again at 10:00pm and again at 1:00 in the morning.

What is the listed show actually called?
How long is the report?

I just checked and the only thing listed at 10pm EDT (7pm PDT) is "Geraldo at Large" and at 10pm PDT (1 am EDT)(Mon) it is "The Strategy Room", 1 hour.

2pm (EDT) has already come and gone.

Baldwin gets it right about Democrats and Fannie & Freddie plus Clinton with Glass-Stegal Act.

He then says don’t for for McCain? There is no logic in that? McCain tried multiple times to rein in Fannie & Freddie. My guess is Baldwin lost money, saw Fannie & Freddie destroy Wall Street and has friends and relatives on Wall Street that have been devastated by Fannie & Freddie.

Fox News' David Asman has a special they've been running: "Fox News Special: Saving Our Economy: What'$ Next?". THIS IS MUST SEE TV folks. It goes all the way back to FDR and up through LBJ, Clinton, Frank, Schumer, Dodd... It's quite damning.

You can see it again tonight on Fox News Channel at 10pm ET.

Maybe his brother Stephen finally got through to him! Praise the Lord.
