The two policemen said Good Morning and Out of Towner-Concerned Citizen mentioned that we people were nuts. About 5/10 minutes later the Lieutenant came by the house to make sure I wasn't uspset or bothered by this. Very polite young man.
Perhaps people in New Jersey don't walk their dogs.
Mostly it feels to me like we're surrounded by burning overturned school buses like in that Mad Max movie, while the hockey mask wearing Democrats drive around us on dune buggies waiting for us to crack.

I talked w/ people in rural Utah who run w/ their sidearms... it seems as though sometimes rattlesnakes will try to interrupt the run, and they just need killin’.

Exactly, and hundreds of those people are moving to GA every day, especially to the sprawling Atlanta metro area where we already have far more than enough of our home grown variety.
OTOH, one of our problems here are the old segregation period gun laws that were written in ambiguous language so that cops and judges of that era could interpret them one way for whites and another way for blacks with a wink and a nod to the whites. The "public gathering" clause of our carry law is the most egregious of those that are still on the books, and we're trying to get that one repealed or modified by the General Assembly but haven't yet succeeded.
Where I live (in CA) we have a pit bull problem. When I walk the dogs I carry pepper spray and a pocket knife. My wife carries the cattle prod I got her for our last anniversary. I wish I could carry a firearm, but If I did the wife would have to come down to the pound and bail us out.
I was in Columbia, SC years ago when a NJ man was ranting that he couldn’t get a taxi to pick him up. I asked which company he had called. He responded in a nasty tone that he hadn’t called anybody.
I told him he would never get a cab that way. He wouldn’t hear anything else from me.
It is illegal to hail a cab from the street in many states. We don’t want the fool things darting in and out of traffic looking for fares.
I usually return going right through the gut of Philly (always timed for no rush hour, but usually end up stuck because of accident ahead of me). I suppose if I were to use the NJTP, I’d go either exit 5 or 4. Heh, but we’re waaaaaaaaay off topic here!

Know what you mean. I've got my McCain bumper sticker sitting on my counter. If it said McCain/Palin I might be a bit more inspired to take the risk of damage to my car. I've been feeling guilty about not putting it on, but I might take the plunge this week...EVEN THOUGH McCain just pulled out of our sad little state of Michigan.
I trust you have an evacuation plan when the SHTF.
Unlike the Y2K scare, this is going to fall apart eventually.
Either we, as a country, will be so weakened by these socialists that we will be attacked, or we will implode from within.
Having no crystal ball, I can only speculate when that would be.
BTW ... I am 68, and I believe it will be before I die. I plan on living for another 10 anyway.
Anyway, when I pull into my residence and park I usually get out, collect the stuff going into the house from the car. One of those things is Alana my favorite 45 auto. I usually stick it in my back pocket and continue on my business. Well about the time I got into the middle of the street and SUV wananbe approached me with a load of kids just retrieved from the bus stop at the corner. A 35ish soccer mom at the wheel. She saw the gun in my pocket and I could literally see her turn white. She sped up to the top of the hill and stopped. I could see her arms waving around and thought nothing more of it. I went into the house and collected the trash for garbage day and took it out and deposited it on the street in the Government regulated container. I happened to look up and she was talking to a Deputy Sheriff. So I went back to the front of my house and started watering shrubs.
A few minutes later the Deputy pulls in to the drive (something I have repeatedly told them not to do) and gets out and walks over to me. I have a passing relationsehip with this specific Deputy. When he got about 20 feet from me I said "Deputy Dog once again I remind you you are trespassing." He said "opps I forget sorry, but I need to talk to you." I said "As soon as you remove yourself to the street we can talk." He got back in his vehicle and removed himself to the street. When he got out he said "That lady up there is completely freaked out that you were in the street with a gun." I responded "So?" He said I told her I would come down and talk to you." I said "ok now be on your way." At that moment the lady comes roaring down the road stops and jumps out and is literally foaming at the mouth "Arrest him now!" the Deputy went into an explanation of the law and pointed out to her that I was doing nothing illegal. She just kept babbling etc. She made him call his super which took 20 minutes to arrive and still she would not take no; even after the super showed her the law.
Then her husband shows up and is all belligerent and starts to get into my face inside the edge of my property. In Nevada if you ask someone to leave your property and they do not you can have them instantly arrested. I placed him under arrest for trespassing and had the Deputy cuff him and deposit him in the patrol vehicle. About this time the watch commander shows up who is a really good cop. He considered himself a peace officer not a LEO. He gets out of the car and gets an update. He starts chuckling to himself and comes over and asks me if he can help. I said that all I needed from him was to process the prisoner and let him spend the night in the county lock-up. By this time he is trying to keep from just busting a gut laughing. The woman is hysterical. The WC threatens to arrest her for public disturbance if she does not calm down. So he starts working his magic and talks them down. Once they calm down he comes over and tells me that these people had just moved in two streets over and were from San Francisco and were typical "Kalifornia liberals". We had a good talk about city slickers moving to the country and screwing the place up. I let them release the prisoner who was a slow learner. As soon as the cuff came off he started with the mouth again and the WC told him if he didn't shut-up he would be in the psych wing overnight.
Long story short they sold their house last week at a heavy loss and the realtor told me they moved back to SF. i detest Kalifornia refugees.
Those of us in NY and NJ can’t exercise the Second Amendment as fully or as often as you can. We have plenty of Communists here.
I haven't seen many stickers in my neighborhood, but I am about to raise the Alaska state flag over the garage door. I think folks can figure that one out.
