McCain plans fiercer strategy against Obama
Article Launched: 10/03/2008 07:11:11 PM PDT
WASHINGTON Sen. John McCain and his Republican allies are readying a newly aggressive assault on Sen. Barack Obama's character, believing that to win in November they must shift the conversation back to questions about the Democrat's judgment, honesty and personal associations, several top Republicans said.
With just a month to go until Election Day, McCain's team has decided that its emphasis on the senator's biography as a war hero, experienced lawmaker and straight-talking maverick is insufficient to close a growing gap with Obama. The Republican's campaign also is eager to move the conversation away from the economy, an issue that strongly favors Obama and has helped him to a lead in many recent polls.
"We're going to get a little tougher," a senior Republican operative said, indicating that a fresh batch of TV ads are coming. "We've got to question this guy's associations. Very soon. There's no question that we have to change the subject here," said the operative, who was not authorized to discuss strategy and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Well yeah! What's wrong with having a little fun on the job? Otherwize who would ever want to go into politics?
All he has to do is take a cue from Sarah.
I thought suspending his campaign was lame but by itself it worked, providing a lot of media attention. But it was essential then, with the focus on him, that he provide decisive, authoritative leadership to the GOP, take a clear unequivocal stand one way or the other(didn't matter which), come back to the people, at the debate or later, and lay it out in straight talk.
He failed miserably at all these necessary follow-on steps, and instead of returning as the decisive leader he let chickensh*t Harry Reid run him out of town like an unwelcome tramp.
I don't know if he has it in him to mount a sustained attack for thirty days. He might, but we haven't seen it yet.
Lets see even a broken clock is right twice. Could it be the 1000s of phone calls, emails, blogs begging for him to fightor the lies by odumbo/biden/media or the sinking biased polls.Pick one but IT IS ABOUT TIME GENTLEMAN JOHN will only ensure you are still a senator in 2009.
These people dont play fair just ask Gov Palins family.
Calling rev wright!!!!!!
Hope this is true!
If he doesn't, he can forget about victory in the other war.
ACORN, Obama, the Democrats in the House and Senate who blocked the Bush Administration's 2003 efforts to regulate FM & FM (NY Times 2003 article), and McCain's own efforts in 2005 to rein them in should be laid out clearly, with web addresses cited where voters can get the whole story of who opposed the regulation and the millions of dollars that went to their cronies in FM & FM.
If he puts country first, he will spend the next few weeks fighting to keep the country from losing two wars--the one in Iraq, and more importantly, the battle of ideas at home.
I suggest they choose 'reformer' as the grand narrative (which received a lot of discussions from both McCain and Palin). Keep pounding on it. Put it in their campaign materials (web ad, tv ad, etc.). The way they have today, they keep changing. One day it is about change. Next about country first. Another day is about reform. At one point, they even put 'change that we need' in their ad, a blantant imitation of 0bama's. They might be related conceptually, but as a narrative using them all make them ineffective.

Here it is the BILL AYERS AD, run it to death. These guys are going though hell and spent a fortune on lawyers before and after. Obama’s Stalinist tactics are getting more brazen by the day.
God help us all if he gets elected, and I’m not talking about taxes either.
-bring back Jeremiah Wright
-bring back Ayers
-Link Obama to Fannie
Link Obama to ACORN
And McCain & Palin, everyone, brush up on how it all started with Cloward-Piven’s strategy for forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. Long read but full of information. Includes a refresher course on Obama’s tie-ins with ALL the radical groups.

“McCain also had the Economy turn to doggy poo at the worst time, he should put Obamas hand on everyones wallet and in everyones sportsmens gun cabinet”
McCain fell into the manufactured crisis same as Bush. The dems orchestrated the whole meltdown to get Hussein in. McCain fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Rush has what happened at the meeting. McCain was set up by Paulson. Personally think Bush should have spoken up and taken over the meeting instead of allowing Obama to keep going after House Republicans.
This is not the plan McCain wanted but he was between and a rock and a hard place. Anyone that knows anything about McCain knows he is against pork and spending taxpayer money foolishly. Actually the original House bill was cheaper but if he went against the bill, he would have been cruicified and the bill would have still passed. McCain got sandbagged by Paulson and Bush was just kind of there.
1. Get back the economy issue. Those that caused housing/mortgage meltdown must be exposed.
2. Energy independence. The public needs to be sold on the fact that McCain has a much better plan than Obama.
3. Obama's character issues. Also keep emphasizing his inexperience. No matter Palin has the same problem, she is not on the top of the ticket.
ha ha ha ha...sure he will...
Looks like a non-interview, to me.
I agree. He needs to bring up Obama's negative ratings/pollings. He needs to convet that having the 1st & 3rd most liberal Senators combined w/ this Congress is a total disaster.
