No surprise that Kay B Huchison voted for it: she’s as dumb as a paint stripe.

No surprise John McLame voted for it; so did his “good buddy” Russ Feingold...

What I DON’T get is why John Cornyn voted for it?

IS Alabama unique in having their senators adjacent in alphabetical order?

And in opposing this stinker of a bill?

How many of the nays are up for reelection this year? Maybe those with safe seats voted yes and left the rest off the hook.

No. Kansas, Wyoming, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. I’m surprised Mary Landrieu voted it down. Guess it wasn’t a large enough bailout for her tastes.

Despite his assertions otherwise, sounds like he jumped right on the scare tactics and rhetoric.

Cornyn statement:

http://cornyn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ForPress.NewsReleases&ContentRecord_id=baf3357e-802a-23ad-4c79-5e180a848221

(snip)

“But right now, we cannot allow taxpayers, families and small businesses in Texas to pay the steep price of inaction. A widespread financial collapse will have a domino effect throughout our State. It might begin on Wall Street but it will ultimately hit Texas families and small businesses the hardest. This is not a theory or hyperbole or a scare tactic. It is a fact.

“If credit markets freeze, local banks will be unable to provide loans for small businesses, which are the backbone of our economy. I’ve heard from small business owners across Texas in recent days and already credit is disappearing while interest rates are rising. As small business budgets tighten, paychecks for workers will be in jeopardy, and families across Texas may be unable to pay their bills, send their kids to college or even put food on the table. We cannot allow this to happen.

She is a fine Senator. Very hardworking and dignified. Great on the war in Iraq. I have always been proud of her.

From the National Taxpayers Association 2008 ratings:

The Democrat scoring the best: Sen. Russ Feingold, who gets a rating of 20, which translate to a “D.” Every other Dem gets an “F”.

My 2 “senadores” (Bond and McNursingHome) voted yea... par for the course for McNursingHome, but I’m disappointed by Bond, who has been one of this turkey’s biggest cheerleaders.
