McCain Campaign Insinuates Bias by Moderator of VP Debate (Clue One, Obama's named in the title)
abc ^ | 10/1/2008 | jake tapper

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told Fox News' Carl Cameron on Wednesday that Ifill "will do a totally objective job because she is a highly respected professional."

But he added, as is his new media-bashing wont, "Does this help that she has written a book that is favorable to Sen. Obama? Probably not."

It was unclear how McCain definitively knew that the book, which is still being written, "is favorable to Sen. Obama."

Ifill said today in an interview with the Associated Press, that Obama's story will be only a small part of the book, which is focused on how politics in the African-American community have changed. Other black public figures, including Gen. Colin Powell (Ret.) will be profiled as well.

She didn't write that Obama is an Uncle Tom so it must be favorable.

ABC absolutely spins this against McCain. They ask how he knows the book will be favorable to Obama. Well, the title - "the Age of Obama" - gives a strong clue, not to mention Ifill's fawning comments regarding Obama for the entire duration of the campaign. Would anyone at ABC care to place a wager on whether the book will be favorable to Obama?

And can you imagine ABC not saying that the appointment of a Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity as moderator would "raise serious questions" about the fairness of the debate? My contempt for the MSM grows every day.

Yes, some in the GOP are certified idiots. There’s a reason the MSM goes to certain GOP members, the GOP member is dumber than them. They are so dumb that they don’t even recognize when the MSM is ripping them or lying about what they said.

What man uses powder foundation on his face, why none other than CARL CAMERON. The evidence speaks for itself in the Documentary: Alexandra Pelosi’s - Journeys With George. Powell is a liberal. So a more fair question would be: Is J.C. Watts or Michael Steele profiled?

I thought not.

“Because there are far more left-leaning journalists than right-leaning journalists, it would be far more biased to have a right-leaning “journalist” if you really think about it.”

I disagree. Having far more more left-leaning journalists” makes the news biased from the start.

“Over at the DU the DUmmies want people to email the debate commision to STOP PALIN from wearing an ear piece.”

Actually, if there are any earpieces, there are probably earpieces for each of the candidates issued by the Secret Service in case they need to give instructions.

I have no problem with earpieces in that event.

If there evan are any.

Ifill is in an impossible position. With her future earnings on the line, she has a GLARING conflict of interest. If she had any integrity — and was absolutely sure she could be entirely objective — she would have turned down the moderating gig. That she not only hasn’t, but apparently WON’T, even with all the heat now on her, says that she has absolutely no integrity.

You didn’t ask me, but I have words of wisdom you need.

Cut down all the oak trees in your neighborhood, out at least as far as hubby’s cemetary (if any). Smash all acorns, burn all fragments, and bury them in quicklime. If you’re diligent enough, you *may* prevent an untimely vote.

“Do you think they made the same assumptions about Lou Cannon when he wrote his book about Reagan?” asked Ifill, host of PBS’ “Washington Week” and senior correspondent on “The NewsHour.”

Ifill’s “they” is the Republican party or conservatives who she is clearly accusing of being prejudiced
because they apply a different standard to white authors and black authors.

In other words, how dare those racists question my fairness.

I'm not sure how things are set up in Georgia, but in Texas, once I show them my voter registration card (I"m white, so I have to prove I can legally vote) - they turn a book around for my signature and my husband's name is either just above or below mine. I can easily see if he has signed meaning he voted ahead of me.

If you waited until the last day/time to vote, you could see is anyone had illegally signed.

Of course I have no idea what they would do at that point!

You really shouldn’t put JC Watts name beside that of Mr. Steele - JC may be claiming he will vote for McCain now, but he openly stated he might vote black - despite the fact that it would be a racist vote for skin color only and against all principles we thought he held.

Ifill’s book will have to be amazing if it deals with politics “in the age of Obama” and yet she claims his story is only a SMALL part. The age of Obama sounds like it will be all about him—that would disappoint readers who judge a book by it’s cover. Is she going to bait and switch her liberal readers?

McCain is too wishy washy on this.

Ifill as moderator is absolutely a deal breaker.

How stupid will the GOP look in years to come that their POTUS candidate was so cowed by PC that he couldn't even insist on a fair moderator?

And then to suck up to Ifill... 'I know she will be fair..."

Sickening, even to the Rats, I bet, to see people so cowed by the race thing.

I would tell Ifill...You're totally corrupt, you lack even a shred of self awareness, or you are totally stupid: Pick one.
