[McCain won’t be way down except in those fantasy Dem polls. Marked increase in R’s polling for Obama? Yeah right. That’s a laugh. ]

I can’t see this mess causing converson from -R to -D. However, I can see a large number on non-droid -D’s switching to -R. After all, not all -D’s are as dumb and stupid as the trolls.

AND, there is no way this crap is going to change the minds of the 30% -D that say they will NEVER vote for a black man.

Thank God my house is paid for. Now keeping it is the next thing. It looks like the government can do whatever they please anymore.

The main task of we the people is to keep the bastards out of office.

True, but we still need to find principled candidates to replace them. Like the Donkeys, we need a new strong "farm system", or at minimum a training program that could teach PUBLIC RELATIONS tactics.

The Four Horsemen of Ignorance are lined up against us:

Socialist politicians, media, the public education cartel and institutions of "higher learning" leftist indoctrination.

The Donkeys had Alinsky, and Alinsky begat a major organization that won election after election (dishonestly for sure, but still won). Where is the Good Guys' equivalent? Think tanks like AEI and Newt's projects are good to a point, but the Conservative movement needs to accelerate the processs big time.

Corruption of the U.S. political system has built up for two centuries like a giant coprolitic mound. Obviously, it won't be totally eliminated in our lifetimes. However, it's better to obtain a few sledgehammers and chip away at it, rather than the whiffle-bats wielded by today's RINOs.

P.S. - The Berlin Wall was made of asbestos-reinforced concrete, but if that can be brought down after 28 years, so can the current Mind-Numbing Media Complex.

I wonder about that, too. I stuck with Bush long after most people abandoned him but lately he has just totally bungled things. He clearly doesn’t know what hes doing. I think he has been lied to by Paulson and the dems, but he is the president! He should know better.

The defense of capitalism died when the Wall Street crooks failed to take responsibility for their action and came running to congress for a bailout

No the defense of capitalism died when Congress agreed to bailout lenders. There's always going to be somebody asking for a handout from Congress. That will never change.

The kicker to all of this. This bill isn’t guaranteed to accomplish a damn thing. Except put us further in the hole.

It will accomplish one thing: it'll get us past the election. You can decide yourself the reason for that.

Wall Street died when the government forced lenders to relax traditional credit standards for the sake of diversity and Wall Street packaged the crap.

Yeah, the longer the news focus is on this crisis, the worse McCain does. Not that there is any logic to that, as the Democrats are responsible for this, and McCain is the only presidential candidate willing to roll up his sleeves and at least try to be part of a solution. Nevertheless, it appears to be the case.

I think Rassmussen is bearing this out.

The McCain campaign gets an A+ for political strategy and tacts...

...except when it comes to that pesky matter of policy and ideology -- including defining the true ideology of the opponent.

Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis

"Conspicuous in their absence are any connections at all with any other group, moderate, or even mildly leftist. They are all radicals, firmly bedded in the anti-American, communist, socialist, radical leftist mesh."

Whether by Fabianist incrementalism, or by catastrophe and revolution, the Socialists win by their strategy -- unless we expose them.

the dems can pass it without help. They simply want the republicans to share the blame

Wrong - the Dems will not share any blame. The blame will fall squarely on the GOP in the world of DNC Medialand. If the House and Senate GOP go along with the Dem leaders, then Bush - A REPUBLICAN - will sign the bill into law. Don't ya see who is responsible in a DEM controlled mass media?

Yeah, and we don’t have a majority because of Bush’s pandering for comprehensive immigration reform/amnesty in 2006, a critical election year.

Bullsh*t! It was the majority House Republicans who stood up to illegal immigration and the president.

We don't have a majority Republicans in the House because the voters don't know any better.

The problem is that the loans are packaged together in bundles. No one knows what’s in each bundle.

It’s like putting a few poisoned pills in a box of pills. Someone has to go through the entire box of pills and find the poisoned one(s), or throw out the entire box.

Credit securities are so devalued these days that Treasury bills with a guaranteed return are selling for very low prices due to low demand. Home loan packages (RBMS) are generally regarded as worthless, regardless of what “gems” might be inside. Until someone sorts them out and separate the good stuff from the crap, and until someone else can offer reasonable guarantees that they will eventually pay off, no one will touch them. The government is the only entity that has the time and money to do that sorting process.

I know it’s ugly.
