Calling it a crap sandwich is great as long as our side EXPLAINS why to the public...much like Mac needs to explain what O’s tax increases will be to them...Reagan made the complex simple and clear.

I agree this bill is better than the first one, but I must also point out that the reason we are the minority is because our spineless Rep. Congress caved on core consecrative issues

McCain singlehandedly stopped the original bill. By all accounts, this is a much better bill. Thank you, Senator Mccain!

But in the end, McCain rushes to Washington and gets partial credit for a bill Americans hate. "Brilliant."

there is not one thin dime in this legislation for ACORN.

The people peddling this nonsense have no shame in angering people based on these lies. ACORN was stripped from the bill yesterday.

The republicans, including Mac, proved this weekend that they they longer deserve the votes of conservatives. Some conservatives will keep eating the Mac and cheese, but many others will do the right thing and stay home on election day. I guess the Mac campaign can look forward to the Dem +10-15% turnout advantage. Serves the right, too.

I watched most of it and thought it was good. But then I like Huckabee.

I did-not know until today that republican and capitulation were spelled the same.

Well, I think the House GOPers managed to put enough lipstick and mascara on this pig that it’s about one beer from being, uh, intriguing....

It seeems like we’re missing something here......... is it China?

I don't know if it's China, but this crisis is going global. There have been several reports of big European banks in real trouble in the past couple of days. The economy of many European countries is not healthy (socialism coming home to roost). Those countries are not in the kind of financial shape to withstand a big hit. We'll muddle through and have the strength of our military for protection. They do not.

If economic meltdown occurs in Europe with ensuing civil unrest, the situation could turn very ugly. Russia's probably licking its chops.

Bush and McCain know this. I think the realization is dawning on Congress.

This goes beyond whether someone can pay their mortgage or get a student loan or may suffer a hit to their 401K. Economically weak and unstable countries sometimes make very unsavory allies who promise to help or become targets for coups or invasions.

My dream is that McCain will eventually name names as to who got us into this mess.

McCain could name names till doomsday and Obama and the MSM will just point the finger right back at him.

What needs to happen is that the justice system needs to work. I think we'll be seeing some people go to jail just like what happened with Enron.

I do think the insurance dynamic in this is terrific. This will keep this from ever happening again.

I believe this was the Republicans' idea, and McCain was instrumental in getting this into the bill. Not sure, but I think this is what happened...

I want to hear Frank and Dodd excoriated.

YES. That's what I'm most upset about tonight... Dodd and Frank pretty much got us into this trouble in the first place with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and there they are in front of the TV cameras, claiming they saved the US economy and that there will be an investigation (at more taxpayer dollars) to get to the bottom of how it all started. Hey Barney and Chris: look in the mirror!

Who cares about ACORN. That was a red herring. The republicans, including Mac, needed to hold out for a mandatory insurance program, with a buy and hold option only if necessary.

Everyone needs to calm down and let’s see the final bill and how it shakes out.

I repeat, KUDLOW was happy with the final bill, he said most of the poison was removed the Paulson bail out money greatly reduced, Acorn gone, and provisions added to pay back the taxpayer.

It still may suck, it may be OK, no one knows just yet, the bad part may be that the insurance portion isn’t guaranteed.

Oh no.. I like the program. Watched it yesterday.

Not a Huckabee rerun from yesterday.

Wow, after looking at your recent posts, I’ve got just got one question. Do you have to take anything for motion sickness while riding that “opinion pendulum” thing you’re on?

Yes losing my guns, wealth, and gaining 40 million new poor illegal aliens as “citizens” will also be disturbing.
