THAT WON’T HAPPEN: If these mushy Republican ACTUALLY VOTE FOR THIS THING: The only way they’re “Gonna let the Americans know the DEMS were really to blame” is to VOTE AGAINST THIS, (Not to ‘compromise).

Republicans will sign.
The question is will they come out with guns blazing on the Democrat Party and Fan/Fred?

Bush speaking at 7:30 in the morning?
WTH is going on? I think there is more to it than we are being told.
To: Miss Didi
That could be a Dem source or Batchelor trying to force McCain's hand (I think prematurely).
Don't fall for it.

We are the best prepared for the worst case scenario, an Øbama Presidency.
There’s no guarantee the market goes up, being a long term investor, I prefer lower prices, Congress and their friends that scammed money off these companies ought to be the first to pay their debts if they want to save them from auction

There was a statement from the White House that agreement has been reached on the bill. I just posted it. So what are they doing in there? Watching the Jets?

Failing to do this means a certain recession, an Obama Presidency, and quite possibly a global depression since I really doubt if Obama or his team have the stuff to manage this crisis. but at least we will still have our principles... haha...

This is such a load of steaming scheiss. No way can a bill of this magnitude be even close to a good answer be decided in such a short time. They all need to stand together, tell Bush and Pelosi to get bent. Let the market do what has to happen and rebuild from the bottom up. I am sick of the news idiots saying the government is paying. No - WE ARE PAYING. McCain needs to lead and be forceful. Tell W where to stick his plan and Pelosi to STFU.

Just when Sarah Palin was about enough to get me out of the “Barr/Baldwin coin toss” camp, the damned Democraps and Republicans are about ready to put me back into that column. Socialism w/ or w/out Obama this year. Just wonderful. Sheesh.

The ONLY WAY McCain can lose this election is to abandon Conservatives once again and support this horrid bill.
Someone better get a hold of McCain and tell him without conservatives, YOU LOSE. If the Palin choice hasn’t shown him this, he’s nuts.

I totally agree. Nancy’s voice was shakey...like she was scared. That’s the first thing I mentioned to my husband as she started to speak.

I'm content with the majority of Republicans, even all of them, voting against the bailout as long as it passes. I don't want another Great Depression starting this Fall. The Bush administration is unable to prevent one without some bailout bill and the dwindling minority of conservative Republicans sure can't stop one either. Only a compromise with the socialist Democrats avoids that scenario. I'm surprised the Democrats lifted a finger to stop the bank runs. The worse the economy the better they will do in the elections because the MSM will blanket the country with propaganda blaiming it all on Bush and the Republicans. It's not fair but it is reality.
