After all the celebratory cr@p of last night and this morning, nothing would please me more than if the GOP pulled the rug out from under the Democrat leadership who are ultimately responsible for this whole mess.

Yep. If “Pelosi & Crew” think this deal’s so great, THEY could just pass it and take ALL the wonderful credit. Ha Ha.

Lower income Americans who don’t pay federal taxes and in many cases earn tax credits.

It’s time to let the chips fall where they may and nail the guilty parties to to the wall.

If the rats want the reptle to run the country, let him handle the steaming pile.

Gee? When did you get in the room where they were negotiating and know these answers?

I agree. WHERE IS MCCAIN.

Down by about 6 points and campaigning hard to keep from Democrats taking power in all four branches of government ...

Is anybody else reminded of the big filibuster sequence in MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON? The Republicans are Jimmy Stewart, battling against the corruption of Schumer, Dodd, Frank et al. as played by Claude Rains, and the political machine back home blacks out everything he says. The only paper that prints the truth is Boy’s Stuff, a couple of hundred mimeographed copies distributed by little kids in wagons. That would be us.

My fear is that these stories about the Repubs NOT being on board are being spread by Dems. And when the Repubs DO vote to pass this albitrose that the conservatives will revolt and not vote for the ticket ... negating Sarah Palins selection.

Please ... someone tell me they have real inside info ... or they have heard from one of the players that the Repubs are against this bailout!

You do know McCain is the entire reason why the House Republicans can hold out like this, right?

Oh, they'll try to punish McCain anyway. It's easier to target vulnerable Republicans than take on big angry Democrats ...

Newest Gallup: Obama 50, McCain 42. This mess is helping Obama.

See tagline. Get over the poll obsession.

We're told if we don't, we'll have a depression that makes the 1930s look like a walk in the park. That's why we must swallow socialism to avoid calamity. Yeah, right. We've been told for the last week, its urgent and as far as I can see, the country is still around.

A Dumbocrat ploy to box conservative Republicans in:

Build up the hopes and expectations of the public with false claims of a deal then blame Republicans for destroying the imaginary agreement.

We have been on this ride too many times before.

The media and uninformed public always get suckered into playing Charley Brown trying to kick the football while Congressional Democrats play the part of Lucy.

I agree. I would like to know. It seems to be a country club Republican misperception that the lower middle class does not pay taxes. In my life, I have made as little as $10,000 and, even as a single parent with two depedents, had to pay FIT, SIT, FICA etc. I don’t know where they are getting their information. Most people at that level don’t itemize, because they don’t own a home.

As you are a “Mitt Fan,” (I was too) — do you have any idea where Mitt stands on this fiasco? I would pretty much trust his judgment on this financial scenario. Would he agree to what is being offered up, or not? I believe he was one of a team advising McCain the other day but have no details.

We need action, but not bail out.

How about making people pay for their house?
