Fix the vote, blame the people, Acorn gets their money and Congress is not to blame. I still smell a rat.

I thought Rush said yesterday that they were “obliged” to do this under some thing Clinton came up with.

nah don’t do that...you will just have to repeat them soon I’m sure. Arlen suggested this? Call me shocked.

Someone posted a column by Newt Gingrich earlier today wherein he called for this. Not sure who was first.

He’s not usually the type of politician to care what we the people think but I’m not the type to disagree with someone when they’re right.
Smart move Spec.

Who kidnapped my Senator and replace him with this guy? Next thing you know Bobby Casey will have a pulse.

I could be reading too much into this, but wouldn’t this imply that the moderate wing of the Republican Senate has decided to cast their vote with McCain and thus the House Republicans.
I hope this means that either we (conservatives) get what we want (knock on wood) or the Rats will have to sink with a very unpopular bill.

Falls under the “even a broken clock is correct once a day” rule.

Yes, called the “Thomas System”. Legislation to be put on the net for review by the public. Might just get some members of Congress to actually READ it too!

True!!
I think Specter has a very good idea. ‘Course no dem in his/her right mind (excuse me—warped mind—) would agree to it. Especially not Commandant Pelosi.

I pass on, for your consideration, an idea proposed by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich who suggests that the final proposal be put on the internet for 24 hours. Speaker Gingrich suggests, and I concur, that such a proposal would be read by thousands if not millions of people who could then inform the Congress of provisions which are so often slipped into legislation unbeknownst to the members and further give us appraisals of unintended consequences. This is a brilliant idea by Newt, and I'm pleasantly surprised that Specter is on board with it.
