OK I think I’m about to get my first experience with flaming BUT:

From the article:

“John McCain is “with” his caucus — and

Later in the article:
“many in his caucus would be satisfied with the addition of some of their proposals “here and there...”

As I read this, the caucus is not holding out for all their proposals to be adopted , only SOME of them, “here and there“.

I’m afraid we’re in for disappointment.

Both houses of Congress are run by the Dems. If the Dems wanted to push through a horrendous bill, they could do it.

Republicans in the House are not in a very good bargaining position. Truth is, Democrats can pass the Paulson/Rat/Bush bailout bill anytime they want.

If you actually think a completely conservative bill could pass with most not wanting that, you are fooling yourself.

Of course there will be some give and take here.

We will lose in some areas, but we may just be able to win in some as well.

In politics, you have to consider that a victory.
