Major “Earmark” in Democrat Bailout Agreement (URGENT must read -ACORN and more)
Blogs 4 McCain ^ | 25 September 2008 | Bill Smith

Posted on 09/26/2008 4:04:56 AM PDT by SE Mom

I received a copy of “Agreement in Principle” relative to the $700 billion “bailout” being proposed and supported by Senate Democrats. The one page agreement from the U.S. Senate Banking Committee details guidelines to be put in place relative to taxpayer protection, oversight and transparency, home ownership preservation and Funding Authority.

... In the “agreement in principle,” there is the effect of a major “earmark” which commits money from future “profits” to be given to nonprofits organizations like ACORN, National Council of La Raza and potentially the National Urban League. This agreement clearly evidences that the Government expects to benefit in the future from the bailout when the values of property rises and mortgages or properties are then sold by the Federal government. The agreement –

... In the proposed bailout agreement, Sen. Christopher Dodd, the Senate Banking Committee and other Democrats desire to pre-direct that future funds (profits) not be returned to the taxpayers via the treasury but that they be used to underwrite potential questionable (maybe even illegal activities) of certain nonprofits which have had a hand in promoting and expanding access to “no money down” loans for minorities, illegal voter registrations and extensive lobbying activities.

Thanks for the information - somehow I feel most of the politicians knew of the intent of this issue long before it became public.

I’ll hesitate to back up any elected person from now on - without eyeing their goals with the memory they have created for me in the past twenty-four hours.

Even the heros who have fought to stay the adoption of the hoodwink presented to the people of this nation must have known something not so ‘right’ was going on.

If they did not - we are going to have to ensure any future elected officials are checked out on a regular basis.

If this information was deliberately withheld until pre-election hysteria - then we the people have been taken twice - once by the original plan and when it failed - by the secrecy of the bail out - again the expectation the people would be paying for it.

All of our elected officials have some dirty dealings they will need to explain to their constituents.

Hopefully they're in for a HUGE surprise in this election--not only a landslide for McCain but by sweeping the Democrats out of Congress.

I'm not nearly as optimistic- the ability of the media to instruct and manipulate the public is pretty astonishing. Maybe more coffee and a muffin is what I need:)

McCain created the impression that he’s going to hammer out a deal, or at least that’s how the press is going to color it. The one thing that McCain can do if the Democrats try to ram this down the Republicans throats is get before the cameras and talk about this earmark in the bill and how much responsibility these highly partisan special interests have for the current banking crisis. Then say he will go back to the table, but if the Dems continue to poison the proceedings, no deal is better than a raw deal for taxpayers, and he’ll return to the campaign. Do not allow Pelosi, Reid, and other creeps to hog the cameras.

This plan was a SOCIALIST COUP ATTEMPT.

Thank God for our House Republicans! And Mac!

No wonder Dingy Harry didn't want McCain back in Washington. Nice try, 'rats. These people are a poison in this country that must be eradicated.

You’re not alone, as you know- not too many freepers have been fans of McC. However- even before he went back to D.C. when he spoke at Clinton’s global thingy- he said one thing VERY forcefully: NO EARMARKS.

I think he's starting that already. Last night at 10 pm Lindsey Graham was sent out to talk about this on Greta's show. Here's his quote:

He's working the phones trying to find a way forward that would protect the taxpayer...and this deal that's on the table now is not a very good deal...20% of the money that should go to retired debt that will be created to solve this problem winds up in the housing organization called ACORN that is an absolute ill-run enterprise. And I can't believe that we would take money away from debt retirement to put it in a housing program that doesn't work.

ACORN is a “housing organization”? ACORN is a left-wing group of “community organizers” and Dem party hacks. ACORN is Obama’s slush fund. It’s a “housing organization” like the NSDAP Brownshirts were a gardening club.

Did you just hear Bill Sammon? Imagine the split screen of Barry's plane taking off for Mississippi while Mac is still working on the bill in D.C. Not good for Little Barry. Even the shots of him arriving to the meeting yesterday were very telling...he's strutting, smiling, waving like he's a movie star.

And what really cracks me up is that clip they keep showing of everyone around the table with President Bush. Barry looks so out of place. It reminds me of "bring your kid to work" day.

These liberal / socialist earmarks are a win-win for the Dems. If the bill passed without scrutiny, they get what they want. If the Republicans spot the Dems' ploy and work against them, the Dems blame the Republicans for obstructing the "urgently needed legislation". The sky is falling, the sky is falling. Classic poison pill strategy.

I say, shove it up Harry Reid's arse, sideways.

Bingo- ACORN is hellbent on turning this country into a socialist nation.

Malkin has some excellent background here:

Fast Eddie Rendell, the governor of Philadelphia, has weighed in. He wants the bailout to include $100 billion in pork, as well as a provision for the govt to take an equity position in the bailed out companies. This plan needs to be defeated.
