First, they promised not to give an inch on offshore drilling. Then they vowed to make a crazy-as-a-fox compromise: allowing some offshore drilling to call the Republicans' bluff, while insisting on funding for alternative energy sources. After a bill modeled on strategy B passed in the Housebut before it cleared the SenateDemocrats simply gave up the ghost and okayed offshore drilling everywhere. The word is they feared Republicans would force a government shutdown over the issue, because a budget bill is pending.
I say: bring it on.
Why can the Dems not prevail on an issue with both facts and morality on their side and the worst president in history sitting in the White House? Let the Republicans shut down the governmentif memory serves, it's not exactly a vote-getter. Then stage a press conference every day with a different expert.

O.K., it’s great title. But there should have also been a Barf alert. This writer is a Liberal tool.
Cammie needs to spend a little more time oiling the chain on his bike and less time spewing his garbage.
At the Frisco Chronicle? /sarc
It's satire right? Anyway ...
The Democrat "No Domestic Energy Policy!"
All of that puts the U.S. in a position that war for oil or
complete economic collapse will be our only choices.
You can't frustrate every source of domestic energy
without consequences. Our enemies will blackmail us
to the extent that we are vulnerable to blackmail.
Shurbutt, is thing talked about in the title anything new? Take that any way you wanna take it.
There was:
I said it was from the SF Chronicle: therefore, by default, it HAS to be a "Barf Alert!"
I believe the Dems think they will get the Whie House. And then they can pass a bill as bad as they want.
Touche!
(Dog and Dems happy)
If you’d have posted this parenthetic comment, you’d have won post of the year!
I think we need to do some drilling in Cameron Scott’s back yard.
Economists laying out painless efficiency measures that would offset our need for the amount of oil drilling could provide.
In the article, there's ONE "painless efficiency measure" discussed, and guess what it is: YES!! Airing up your tires!! This guy is just spewing the Obambi talking points. No answers, no solutions, just the usual cr*pola.
“Why can the Dems not prevail on an issue with both facts and morality on their side”
Why??? the writer asks??
Because, most of the time neither the facts nor morality ARE “on their side”.
I am flabberghasted....... Words escape me..... What planet am I on?
There’s probably already been a lot of drilling in that back yard.
Just sayin’.
Simple...they DON'T have either the facts or morality on their side and saying they do does not change that.
They are failing because it is so abundantly clear that the GOP have the facts, the morality, AND THE PEOPLE on their side on this and the Dems are fearing for their political life.
Actually, this article is a great illustration of the RAT stupidity that allowed their entire party to be captured by far-left know-nothings like this writer. Every one of his so-called “reasons” to oppose drilling is the exact opposite of the truth. You just can’t debate anything with such deep-denial nuts.
He’s not a “tool”. He is a fool.
