Sarah Palin horrifies Liberals
Washington, Sept.22: Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has probably seen it all politically in the three weeks since she accepted the Republican party's vice-presidential nomination.
Her public as well as her personal space has been invaded with out a by or leave, and she is turning out to be the most polarizing figure in American politics.
She may have won quite a few brownie points from the Conservatives, but the Democrats and the Liberals are leaving no stone unturned to expose her as a negative choice.
"She horrifies me because . . . I can't even talk. She's . . . she's just about every negative I can imagine in a candidate," the New York Daily News quoted a fuming Lisa Shannon, a left-leaning professional from Maryland, as saying.
However, Virginia hunter Scot Campbell describes Palin as "inspiring."
"I love her talking points. Even more, I love the whole package," he adds.
The enthusiasm on the right is there, but scratch a politically active opponent of Bush White House policies and fury erupts.
"Eva Peron reminds me a lot of why I'm so frightened of Sarah Palin," said author Naomi Wolf, referring to the woman who put a movie-star face on Argentina's autocratic regime in the 1940s.
"She was this glossy, telegenic figurehead for a police state," said Wolf, a former Al Gore campaign adviser.
Wolf sees Palin as an extension not of McCain but of the current White House.
"Look at the way she's styled - this blows my mind. Every senior woman in the Bush administration has been styled by the same hand. It's the same colors, it's the same palette, it's the same makeup," Wolf said.
"In the back of my mind she's smiling at my face and stabbing me in the back," said Hannah Suckle, an executive assistant from Manhattan.
Syracuse University culture watcher Bob Thompson said the reaction gets superheated when Palin critics, especially those steeped in women's issues - get called sexist by the GOP.
"She has the best of both worlds," said Celeste Youngblood, of Winchester, Va. referring to Palin's executive experience, conservative credentials and family life. "She has five kids. I have six. She walks the walk. She knows what I'm about. I am much more excited."
Then maybe it's a good time to shut up. (A leftist's gotta know his - or her - or it's limitations.)
I would be scared to death. (Anyone polling the "who has the best legs" vote?) Oh, my...
She is every thing their not, she is everything they don't want to be and it is just pee in their Cheerios.
They now have someone new to hate beside President Bush and all other white men. They have Sarah.
Hope all the white male freepers realize the shift in agendas. You might be able to breath easier for awhile.
If she gets into office, you might have 4 years of comparative freedom. They will be so busy skewering her they will leave you alone.
The Leftist women horrify me!
Naomi Wolfe?
*snicker*
Isn’t that the gal that had to teach Al Gore how to dress like an alpha male?
Same clothes, same palette, same make-up..
LOL
Yeesh
I remember how one high member of N.O.W. said during the Lewinsky scandal, that she herself would administer a specific sex act to Bill Clinton, in thanks for his good work in keeping abortion legal, and “women’s issues”.
I was speechless then and am still speechless that N.O.W. can be taken seriously after such comments.
"She horrifies me because . . . I can't even talk. She's . . . she's just about every negative I can imagine in a candidate," the New York Daily News quoted a fuming Lisa Shannon, a left-leaning professional from Maryland,..Left "leaning"?
One leg shorter than the other. (Probably has lobbyists for the 'less' fortunate...)
Then it’s their loss.
But amusing as it is, there's something profoundly disturbing in the level of vituperation they direct at an individual that not a single one of them actually knows, based on three weeks' acquaintance only by media proxy. How on earth can one state "I hate everything about her" when that individual cannot know a single thing about her? These are not primary school children speaking about some new vegetable they've never tried, they're putative and self-appointed paragons of enlightenment propounding nonsense about another human being. Were they actually intelligent enough to be considered intellectuals they'd be embarrassed by it.
It isn't over anything that Sarah Palin actually is, it is an all-consuming hatred of what she represents, and what Sarah Palin represents to these people is the America they despise. I can think of no other explanation for this rabid, reflexive, inchoate hostility. It isn't healthy.
Ooh, they like that. Libs are extremely strange, you know.
Leftists naturally hate. But an 86% approval rating is hard to beat despite how many lawyers RATS send to Alaska.
She's adored as an American doll. I'm more than on board.
I saw Naomi Wolf on Fox a few days ago.
I couldn’t believe the drivel coming out of her mouth. She is seriously delusional.
When a fox anchor dared to suggest that conservatives want the same good things as liberals, just had a different idea of how to achieve them, she basically said, oh no, republicans want to hurt women and people, that’s what they like to do.
I’d love to find the quote. I couldn’t believe anyone could put her on national TV as anything but a freak show.
Those with Sarah Palin Derangement Syndrome are hypersensitive, are easily slighted, and habitually relate to the world by vigilant scanning of the environment for clues or suggestions to validate their prejudicial ideas or biases. They tend to be guarded and suspicious and have quite constricted emotional lives. Their incapacity for meaningful emotional involvement and the general pattern of isolated withdrawal often lend a quality of schizoid isolation to their life experience.
Differential diagnosis:
Though he's out of the news at the moment, I'd add Clarence Thomas to the list.
Just as the neo-nazis hate no one more than a "race traitor", the unhinged left despises no one more than a non-Marxist African-American or woman.
It reminds me of P.E.S.T. - Post Election Stress Syndrome. Is it possible to have a Pre-Election Stress Syndrome? I assume so...
Wouldn’t that have made her name Eileen?
