Yep, yep, yep.. always someone else’s fault.. It has nothing to do with the fact that the man can’t write a decent bill that can actually be implemented or doesn’t have the leadership skills to sell a bill.. nope, it is just everyone else is corrupt.. I’m surprised you didn’t just call everyone ‘sheeple’...

A part of this current economic crisis is like a pea-shell game.

A bank fails.

The FED sells the assets to another financial institution —at pennies on the dollar. That is a huge benefit for the buyer.

The FED assumes the debt. [That means, the taxpayers eventually get the bill.]

Will the bailouts help your mutual funds?

The bailouts will probably help some of my funds. Someone this morning said a trillion dollar bailout comes out to $3,300 per person. The bailout probably helps my funds $3,300 worth. But I'm nearing the stage in life where I get out of the stock market anyway.

Bullhockey! Ron Paul was a Libertarian before the moderate Libertarian joined the Republican Party! And why? BEcause the Libertarian party is not very successful, and Ron Paul wanted to hitch his wagon to the Republcan Star.

Funny you should point to his writing(sic).. you’ve agreed he never accomplished everything, but my question is, how can we trust his writing...

We’ve learned, thanks to Paul supporters, that he never actually wrote his newsletters, they where all ghostwritten..

Lately we even found out that his “Manifesto” book was also ghost written, much based on the newsletters he didn’t write..

..so, we have someone who accomplished nothing, and much of his writings weren’t actually his, so how do you know what rhetoric is actually his and if he actually believes in that rhetoric if he has no actions to back it up..

What is the old saying, money talks BS walks..

Large explosion in Islamabad. You think in the next 30 days the focus for the election will move from the Economy to the War?

It’s a ponzi scheme- just like Social Security.

One thing I’ll agree with Barr on- we need to know WTH is going on behind closed doors this weekend and what they’re putting in this bailout legislation.

[I think he’s far enough out there on the right that he is in that zone where it is sometimes hard to tell the difference. ]

If you diagram the views of conservatives and liberals, each diverging in a continum, you find a Mobius strip. That means the radicals of each meet with ideas that are in no way workable in any form and they revert to the other side.

I don't know, but it sure takes the talks off of the economy on the Neil Cavuto show from Economy to the crisis in Pakistan. It does look pretty bad, to have the Marriot burning in Islambad. what a shame.

because Home Depot, etc. are doing fine. It’s only the banks who are hurting.

Home Depot will not be doing so fine if people find out that banks are no longer giving loans to small businesses, etc. which will affect paychecks.

You're going to see Home Depot shrivel up real fast.

Newt had the best solution yesterday.. put these businesses and the outstanding loans up on the auction block and let other banks buy them up piece by piece. With the 5% of bad loans, there are 95% of good, paying loans. If we would quit looking at these entities as something that must stay together and just let the market buy them piece by piece, all the loans stay solvent, and IF something has to take place, it only has to take place on the 5% or so of the companies that have bad debt, not the whole thing..

Pelosi will insure any action by Congress on the financial crisis will be doomed to fail.

The speaker's letter signals that Democrats are prepared to accept the president's plan for Wall Street, but also demands a second stimulus package targeted at Main Street.

Pelosi says such a package must include five components: "Investment in infrastructure for economic growth and job creation here at home, home heating assistance at a time of record energy costs, extended Unemployment Insurance for the growing number of Americans looking for work, Food Stamps that will help ensure we feed hungry families in a time of crisis, and assistance to maintain critical health care coverage jeopardized by state budget cuts."

Pelosi says she wants to "balance accountability to the U.S. taxpayer with protecting American families from the crisis's fallout."

Government gives wife and I $1,200 in free money so we’ll spend it. I put it in the bank. Then the gov loans wallstreet a trillion dollars. That loan costs me $3,300 so my net is -$2,100. And my mutual funds get better. It just isn’t that important. What I really need is the dew to dry up so I can get the yard mowed this morning :)

YES! I can guarantee that this legislation is going to be filled with carp that is going to make the situation worst!! And the Republicans are going to be too scared to stand in the way of the Democrats from fear of being perceived as blocking legislation that is needed for the economy to survive..... Sheesh, what a bad situation we're in....

I’ve lost about 15% of my retirement fund, but that’s not the point.

What have my grandkids lost? What has the country lost as a grand experiment in freedom? Greed, baited by collectivist schemes, has destroyed a great part of who we are or will be in the future.

Good GRIEF what an idea- let the private sector deal with it? Hah! Not happening. Panic rules the day and common sense is not in the equation.
