Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has been left critically injured after a Learjet crashed while departing from a South Carolina airport.

4 people were killed, while two people - including Barker and DJ AM, a famed Hollywood DJ - were injured.

Barker was transported to a burn center in Augusta, Georgia, where he was listed in critical condition.

Barker had performed Friday night at an event alongside Perry Farrell, the former Jane's Addiction singer, as well as Gavin DeGraw and DJ AM. It was not immediately clear whether any of those performers, aside DJ AM were traveling with Barker.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday from Columbia when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. She said the plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.

Bergen said the Lear 60 was headed to Van Nuys, California. She was unable to confirm the names of who was on board the plane.

Just presenting a balanced picture of him

Funny, I got the picture in my mind of two people critically burned and busted up, fighting for their lives in total agony, resulting from the crash of their aircraft. Where 4 others died and were likely burned to death after their screams went silent.

If you're ever unfortunate enough to witness a scene like this, with people critically burned, howling in hellish agony, politics would likely be the very last thing on your mind.

A "balanced picture", one never forgets.

As you are.

Hey, maybe you'll get lucky and these two in critical will die of their injuries, and you can post their autopsy photos and really show your, "balanced picture".

You best take care.

So, you are alo in favor of portraying this gangsta rapper as a decent, conservative family man like the guy I started posting to?

Why don’t you pray for the guy’s conversion instead of bad mouthing him from thread to thread? It’s this kind of attitude that makes Christians and FR look bad.

SlapHappyPappy, ColdWater, My brother is Travis's uncle by marriage. I went to school with his father and my SIL. I no longer live there but my brother has known Travis his whole life.

His father is flying to Atlanta at this time so there will be more direct news when he calls the family. At this point the news he got from the hospital was that Travis had second and third degree burns mostly from the waist down and on his hands.

ColdWater. The picture you posted is not of his business. It is one of his storefronts which he has three. He has several clothing lines that are sold there and thru other retail outlets plus a web store. Last years gross was just under 20 million. Not to shabby for a guy who just sells shirts to people in the hood. He has some clothing I wouldn't where but the majority I wouldn't have a problem with.

He has about 75 people working directly for him in sales, design, manufacturing and distribution plus others indirectly who work for the other vendors. He is presently in a 6000 and a 23000 square foot buildings that he has out grown. He just acquired a 63,000 building. They were to start moving some of the business into it this week according to my brother. He isn't sure what effect his accident will have on the timing of the move but it will have to take place because they are completely out of room.

He gave his father his old house when he bought a $8,000,000 house for investment and tax reasons that he shares with his ex. She lives in one end and he in the other. He gets to see his child everyday when he is home. I would say that makes him at least trying to be a good family man and is wise enough in business matters to look to the future.

I find it interesting that you maintain,  "He is still a punk gansta rapster helping to ruin the lives of many by promoting racial divide." That again shows how little you know about him. He is not a rapper, he is a drummer.

Travis's problem is that he loves to play the drums and will play with anyone. He is one of the best drummers at this time so he gets lots of requests. That is why he was in South Carolina.  He was invited and played drums for a song during the last country awards show we watched. I'll admit, he did look strange in that venue with the rest of the band being country musicians.

You don't like some that he chooses to play with but this is still a free country. He is free to play with people you don't care for and you are free to complain about it. I only ask that you get your facts right before you let your ignorance and bigotry say things about people you know nothing about. Especially in a situation like this.

As I stated before, the family thinks he should get through this. I will post later to all on this thread when I hear more.

Thanks to all who are showing compassion and to the other, I hope you get better soon.

BVB

Amen to that. Our prayers are with Travis and your whole family at this sad time. We may not agree with Travis’ politics or approve of some of his friends, but there comes a time when all decent people put aside their partisan, political animosity to show compassion for their fellow man in need of God’s blessings. It’s the least we can do, for the sake of his two young kids, if nothing else.

It will be a long and painfull road, indeed. Godspeed to him and the other surviver as well as those 4 that perished.

Coldwater has been kicked off of this and other threads regarding this tragedy. While I am glad that you posted, you don’t have to explain yourself to a jackass.
