DISCUSSION THREAD . . .
Also on CNN MSNBC live.
Naming NAMES before being elected! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
OUTSTANDING!
He did name Obama’s ties. Those are the ties that matter right now.
I’m glad he’s starting to move onto specifics about plans to deal with this now, though.
I think yours is the post of the day.
He could spare us the lectures...love that, Mac!
He’s laying out what he will do. Going to set up a “trust”...”MFI”. Restore investor confidence and assist troubled institutions.
McCain is doing two things here:
1. Calling out Obama on his corruption.
2. Being Mr. Fixit.
People want someone who SOLVES THEIR PROBLEMS.
Harry Truman did this in 1948. He challenged Tom Dewey and the Republican Congress to put up or shut up, and it won him the election.
Best,
Chris
Wikipedia is devoid of entries on Oalin!!
This is excellent- but as I said upthread- the most important thing is the tone he and Palin are using this morning. They’re not hollering. Calm, deliberate, frank and reassuring. This is they way to show leadership.
EXACTLY!!!
I am disappointed in Mac’s handling of this. He hasn’t been aggressive enough. It is a mistake to say the Bush Administration and Republicans share the blame. It is wrong not to hang this around the neck of Democrats.
At least McCain is addressing the problem. Obama is waiting to see what transpires before he will say anything.
And the other two senators on the opposing ticket have?
Obama just released a ong winded statement that was carried on politico.com in which he states that he is refraining from giving a detailed statement of his solutions because the situation is to serious to “politicize” it. This is clearly designed to inoculate him from the raines/johnson scandal.
meanwhile Obama is wondering “what the heck is AIG? What’s a derivative? I don’t see anything in my liberal talking points about AIG...”
He was naming names yesterday.
Power Broker Helps Obama Search for Running Mate [May 24, 2008] [James Johnson, Fannie Mae CEO]
Let me tell ya’ll how this is going to play out.
Obama will start screaming like a stuck pig, and you’ll get 5 minutes of Dem pundits lambasting McCain every time a 5 second clip of McCain’s speech is shown.
It’s going to be up to US (yet again) to get this out over the din of the Obama -worshipping MSM.
The people in government encouraged (forced) lenders to lend to people who where not creditworthy. The people in government backed private enterprises to subsidize this practice. Thus, I'm not surprised that the people in government now need to come up with a taxpayer backed solution. This is not the proper role of the government as all of us can testify but I don't think that will change no matter who is elected in November. Sigh.
To think that "greedy" people on Wall Street wouldn't set the taxpayer up for a ride is naive at best and craven at worst. The solution is to not put the taxpayer in the position in the first place.
McCain has a chance show real leadership by noting how he will change government policies in the future so taxpayers don't get stuck with the bill of the corrupt and incompetent.
What am I going to do in that voting booth??
I have been awake all night concerned about Obama and his gangsters residing in the White House.
I am very concerned with all the help from media that they will fool most of the people and lie and cheat to win.
McCain/Palin, the only choice!
