Today, The New York Times leads with a smear piece entitled, "Once Elected, Palin Hired Friends and Lashed Foes." Likewise, today's Washington Post competes in the ever-further-downward spiral with its own hit piece, "As Mayor of Wasilla, Palin Cut Own Duties, Left Trail of Bad Blood." Cronyism, lashing out, cutting personal duties and a trail of blood.
NRO cites Jen Rubin's criticism of the NYT's hatched job, finding that the facts hardly warrant the egregious language and condemnatory tone of the article. The Post article supplies even less substance - by it's rationale, every elected official who fills a cabinet with trusted allies is guilty of front-page worthy scandal.
It bears mentioning that the media have allotted absolutely no time to investigating the myriad "scandals" of Obama and Biden. If the Democratic pair were subjected to the same standard of scrutiny, the front pages of every newspaper in America would run for a week in order to capture their many scandals.
The media hates Sarah Palin. They despise her for routing radical feminism, they curse her for boosting McCain in the polls and they condescend her for the conservatism she refuses to remit. They are willing to shamelessly degrade themselves without limit in order to lend support to the Democratic ticket. Today's leading Washington Post article on Obama, even as he rolls out ads which patently lie about McCain, is titled, "Obama Points to the Issues: Ignore Attacks, Democrat Implores."

She is their undoing.
I think that people might begin to talk to any friends who are not totally Obama-crazed by saying, “I’m supporting the Democrat in this election —John McCain.”
Trying to sell Democrats—even non-lefties—on “the conservative candidate” is a non-starter. And frankly, McCain is pretty close to a Henry Jackson Democrat, at least as close to that as he is to being a Reagan Republican, if not more so.
Forget what we say among ourselves. Forget about supporting Palin because she IS conservative. If we want to win over the wavering votes, tell them that you’re supporting the Democrat (McCain) over the radical leftist (Obama), and see what that does.
Just a thought.
Hmmmmm - maybe it’s already started ..

Barack Obama loses 12 Points in Minnesota, Tied with McCain

Buzz up!vote now
Before the Republican convention, Barack Obama was leading John McCain in Minnesota by 12 points. However, according to a recent poll, John McCain is now tied with Obama. This is not a minor change folks, this is a drastic shift in the electorate.
When one of the more liberal States in the union swings by twelve percentage points toward the Republican candidate in three weeks, something dramatic has happened. What that “something” is, the mainstream media does not understand, and may never understand. They are simply too out of touch with the rest of the Country.
The fact of the matter is that when 80% of Americans believe the country is going in the wrong direction, they did not mean they wanted a new “Big Government” program. Instead, most of them were simply waiting for a Sarah Palin to come along.
They were waiting for a someone who actually understands the small business owner and realizes the direct impact that Washington policies have on the citizenry. They were waiting for someone like Sarah Palin, who understands public policies not just in theory by the beltway elite, but in a much deeper sense that only a mother of five could know.
Sarah Palin, unlike many of the people currently in government, understands that government is not a means to solve every problem. In fact, as Ronald Reagan said often, “Government is the problem.” This no more a cliche now than it was then. When it is the government that stands in the way of energy independence, balanced budgets, and economic prosperity, it is simply the truth.
The American people have been waiting so long for a “real” person to emerge on the political stage. They want someone who is on their side of the issues. Sarah Palin brings that to the table.
I imagine that Minnesota is a microcosm of the Nation’s overall view of the McCain/Palin ticket at this time. They have had enough of the Big Government as usual mantra. What they want is real change.

When your popularity rating is 80% pretty much the whole community is your friend..
“Is this the same Governor that has an 80% APPROVAL RATING?”
Yeah, but what the hell would her constituents know about it.....
I missed that small pleasure.
Do you have any links to articles?
Thanks.
A good leader ALWAYS surrounds himself with loyal, dependable allies. To keep the enemy or an unknown in a position of trust would be pooooor leadership.
Gov. Palin is just so easy to love, and she looks better as the days go by. The evil that she is up against her, shows up more too.
