This is an excellent and plainly understood essay.
I recommend it.

The Devil’s greatest tool is to get people of faith fighting with each other. Most of the time he must settle for Christian churches attacking each other. However he feels he as really accomplished his goal when he gets members of one church fighting amongst themselves.
The Devil is in the details.
We should claim the right to worship who what how and where we want and respect other’s believes.
We have Obama and the liberal media using the Saul Linsky rule against us. It will take all of us united together to fight it off.
Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.

Here's what the Catholic vote brings us:
Kennedy (MA), Harkin (IA), Durbin (IL), Dodd (CT), Collins (ME, RINO), Reed (RI), Murray (WA), Landrieu (LA) Leahy (VT), Mikulski (MD), and Biden (DE).
Individual Catholics are the heroes of the pro-life movement.
The organized "Catholic vote", on the other hand, is the backbone of legal abortion in this country.

Good video. An RC awakening would have a dramatic effect on the nation.

The Church is speaking out this year as it has not in prior elections, it seems to me. I posted the link to a sermon I heard 2 weeks ago in Alexandria, VA, above, posted on NRO by someone else who heard it. Today, at my own parish in Falls Church VA,I heard a similar sermon, less scholarly perhaps, but very strong, nonetheless. The priest said there are many issues, but life is THE issue. He said that the "I want abortion to be legal, safe and rare" position is NOT an acceptable Catholic position, that it ATTACKS life. He said there may be reasons to vote for a Pro-abort politician, but at the end of the day [aka Judgment Day] will you be able to look the Lord in the eyes and JUSTIFY IT. He also said, "listen, you KNOW me, you know I don't like being confrontational or adversarial. but I HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS, because I will be held to account on Judgment Day as well and God will want to know why I DID NOT say it.
I can't promise an RC awakening, but I am encouraged by the vehemence with which I am seeing the priests and bishops speak to the issue of life this election season. I have not seen it before and I credit Pope B16 for this change.

No I’m just a bit wary of making political party membership denominational.

perhaps even the clergy are inspired by Sarah Palin......just a thought. we know PB16 listens closely to the Holy Spirit....perhaps this is the year for God to begin His plan to end abortion.....there are signs.....I pray it happens soon.

You have no way of knowing anything about this priest and his spiritual life. The fact that he reflected at all about the matter discussed with him is a most positive indication of what he is really is.
I am always amazed at the “fiat” that one person can put on another regarding that other person’s inner life and thoughts.
It used to be called “rash judgment” in my Catholic Moral Guidance Book.
But ...my saying so may be a “tad irritating” but “cute”, as you have mentioned about 4 times in your recent posts.

We Catholics so often forget that we have an obligation to pray for our priests. I am aware, through familial contact with a priest, that their life is more difficult and more sacrificial than the average layman can understand and the more we are committed to pray for them, the stronger and more close to God they will be.
I don’t like to post long and anecdotal accounts to clarify my point here, though I have many; suffice it to say that priests need our prayers, we are obliged to remember them in prayer regardless of what their seminary training was or what their present views may be, and we are to anticipate God’s action and answer to our prayers for His priests. In this way, everyone benefits and God is glorified.
God bless.

Well?....Hopefully this young man has turned a corner.
I do wonder about any Catholic ( priest or not) who would need to pray a week about putting the life of an innocent pre-born infant before socialist issues. This young man is definitely in need of the prayers of the faithful.

And here's the list of Bishops that have spoken out against Pelosi, Biden and all other CINOs. There will probably be an updated list tomorrow.
Updated: American Bishops who have spoken against Pelosi
Here is the complete list of American bishops who have responded to Nancy Pelosi's comments so far:
-
-
... Bishop James Conley, his auxiliary, joined him
-
-
-
... Bishop William Lori of Bridgeport, chairman of the Committee on Doctrine, joined him
-
-
-
Bishop David Zubik of Pittsburgh and...

... Bishop Oscar Cantu, his auxiliary bishop, has joined him

{Last updated on September 10th.}
Notes:
-
Previous #23 has been removed. Bishop Joseph Gossman of Raleigh, NC is actually the bishop emeritus, and the new bishop, Michael Burbidge has not, to my knowledge, made a personal statement.
-
Previous #16 has also been removed, it was an erroneous duplication of current #13.
-
#26 was added September 10th, although he published his column September 6th
