New McCain ad blames Obama and Democrats for death of immigration overhaul effort.
(CNN) John McCains campaign is running a Spanish language ad in battleground states that blames Barack Obama and Senate Democrats for the failure of attempts to overhaul the nations immigration laws even though the Republican nominee and his Democratic counterpart cast identical votes in the key Senate showdowns on that issue last year
Obama and his congressional allies say they are on the side of immigrants. But are they? asks the announcer in the 30-second spot, Which Side Are They On?
The press reports that their efforts were 'poison pills' that made immigration reform fail, he continues. The result: No guest worker program. No path to citizenship. No secure borders. No reform. Is that being on our side? Obama and his Congressional allies ready to block immigration reform, but not ready to lead.

Amazing, isn’t he?
Do you suppose he sleeps well at night? or does he stay awake dreaming up these things. Either way, he’s got some nerve and he’ll only become more emboldened as POTUS.

Which Side Are They On?
Well, we know which side McShamnesty is on, don’t we. Give either of them the White House and we can kiss our sovereignty and security good bye.
I didn’t use the word “immigrant”, and I correctly used the term “immigration” because I am interested in all of the issues regarding immigration, both legal and illegal.
GO complain to someone who actually is attacking immigrants.
I agree, Plus he and Obama basically have the same stance on the immigration issue. So he could pull some Hispanic votes in states like NM and CO, which could put him over 270 EVs, while staying on offense against Obama. However he better not take the Palin nomination for granted with the base though. McCain has a penchant for sticking his thumb in the base's eye, when he's being all moderate and sh*t. So he better not overplay it against us. He would be wise not to remind us why we didn't want him in the 1st place. That said I have to admire his shrewdness and cajonnes on this one
“New McCain ad blames Obama and Democrats for death of immigration overhaul effort.”
No Juan, that was the American people. Apparantly you STILL haven’t “gotten the message!”
“The May Day demonstrations organized by the Democratic-allied Service Employees union destroyed the image of the majority of immigrants who come to work, save, and educate their kids.”
The May Day celebrations had zero to do with “immigrants” and everything to do with illegal aliens.
I’m afraid to look at this article and thread. Can someone fill me in?
“No you would be an idiot to help elect the one who is for full blown illegal immigration, i.e. Barack Obama.”
How is Juan NOT for full-blown illegal immigration?
Hey, I am voting for Palin and the RINO but cripplecreek and Texas Eagle aren’t the ones telling Juanito to pick at old scabs.
So you would agree with Obama that we ought to just teach our kids to speak spanish?
bfl
“However, you want to cause trouble? then ask them what Palins position is on immigration. Because so far as I can tell, shes never really talked about it. So I dont have any idea what her views are”
I am betting she will be vague on her views on areas she actually disagrees with mccain strongly, at worst.
I am shocked at the personal nature of the attacks against me. I thought it was patently clear that I didn't just wake up this morning and decide to stir up anti-McCain sentiment on FR.
It was McCain who opened himself up to a potentially devastating Obama counter-punch when the record can be easily shown that he is as pro-illegal-immigration as Obama. That is a slap in the face of the millions of Hispanics who came to this country legally. My dad for instance.
If McCain wants to make hay of the illegal immigrant issue and gain votes in the process, he should make an ad promising to pardon Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean.
“If McCain wants to make hay of the illegal immigrant issue and gain votes in the process, he should make an ad promising to pardon Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean.”
Agreed 100%
McCain is an open-borders loon...we know that here in Arizona. The only safeguard we have is to make sure that we have a congress with enough conservatives in it to prevent an amnesty bill from ever getting to his desk.
Critical constituency. Interesting.
This ad is directed at illegal aliens. Illegal aliens aren't allowed to vote in US elections.

>>No Juan, that was the American people. Apparantly you STILL havent gotten the message!
Well, that all depends on who Juan feels are the ‘American People’. There are people on this thread pointing out that illegal aliens are a ‘Critical constituency’.
This ad is not about immigrants, legal immigrants already have a path to citizenship. This ad is about legalizing ILLEGAL aliens!
