State: Pennsylvania

Updated: 9/13/2008

Summary: McCain - 49.1% Obama - 44.3% Not Sure/Other - 6.6%

"This is a classic case of polling as a snapshot in time. We're turning Pennsylvania purple today, as McCain takes a small edge. But as in Ohio, we are watching this closely and things could change in this classically blue state."

The McCain camp needs to fry Obama for that ad mocking McCain for being too old for computers.

Copy the following link (http://www.forbes.com/asap/2000/0529/053_print.html) and quote from Forbes.com.

Note its original date: May 29, 2000

Paste it all over the Internet.

Forbes.com .... May 29, 2000 ...... "In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate's savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. "She's a whiz on the keyboard, and I'm so laborious," McCain admits."

Mrs. Obama came to Fishers, Hamilton County. She spoke to maybe 150 people at a local conference center. Hamilton County is one of the most Republican counties in the United States. It was a waste of time. Indiana is still solidly red.

Some credit to Rendell .. he was the only Dem politician to note that PA was not gonna go for Obama. He was talking about the primary but he knew if Obama got the nomination, he likely would not carry the Commonwealth in November. Rendell knows his gun-God clingers.

It was 39 to 40 Obama in Indiana. Too close for comfort. I hope we get some new numbers soon.

Yeah, relying on a base of 14% of the population is not a great model for victory. But I do think that is what they imagine. They imagine that there are millions and millions of black folks who have not registered. They are going to register them and elevate themselves to victory.

Here’s another thought about demographics, btw. The presumed Hillary vs Sarah contest in 2012 and how formidable Hillary is. Well, two things . . . 1) Who says McCain won’t run as an incumbent in 2012 (assuming he wins this year)? Given the finest medical care in the world, who says he dies? And if he thought he might, hell, he’d resign and make Sarah an incumbent. 2) This is BIG. There is reapportionment in 2010. More EVs will move south. Hillary’s hill gets steeper.

I'd like to see this one hold for a week or two. I'd also like to see 50+%.

Obama's going to campaign in PA hard to get this one back.

I think the democratic “bluecollar” states (OH, MI, PA) will all go McCain/Palin.

I think you're on to something. There's a great big chink in the Democrat party and this is it. Buy them a few beers and they'll tell you why - they don't want a black guy for president.

However, keep in mind that Rendell is a Hillary guy. He can doom Obama by just dialing down the fraud machine. The question is does Rendell control PA machine politics?

FYI. I live in an Albuquerque area where in 2006 there were a bunch of Madrid for Congress (running against Heather Wilson) lawn-signs, and I have to say that I’ve seen few 0bama signs.

In fact, near the University of New Mexico campus, there’s a house with a bunch of McCain/Palin, Pearce and White lawn-signs. Given the area, this is extremely odd.

I’ve also seen a bunch of McCain/Palin signs all over. And very few 0bama.

How could they not know? That is the question about Obama I have. How could they not know about John Kerry? The left is in denial. They roll out these liberal candidates that not only are not in the mainstream but openly resent the mainstream of America. They confuse the urban areas where they dominate as the mainstream even as they are forced to run hiding their plans and views hoping they make it through till election day with just generalities and speeches.

So let's speculate on how Biden will make his exit as Obama's running mate. Will he leave "to spend more time with his family" or will it be "because of medical reasons"?

I predict that the Philidelphia polls will remain open until the deciding Obama vote is cast. It could be Nov. 14th, but they’ll get a judge somewhere to hold them open.

Last time that happened in St.Louis the feds were there for the next election and the state went republican.
