State: Pennsylvania

Updated: 9/13/2008

Summary: McCain - 49.1% Obama - 44.3% Not Sure/Other - 6.6%

"This is a classic case of polling as a snapshot in time. We're turning Pennsylvania purple today, as McCain takes a small edge. But as in Ohio, we are watching this closely and things could change in this classically blue state."

Even with the special sauce, did Zogby factor in the 7% Philadelphia Democrat FRAUD vote?

Is this Pennsylvania, or New Pennsylvania?

NC will go RED but by a narrow margin. Elizabeth Dole is a drag on votes and may lose. But her main concern above all else is the DC social scene anyway. The guvs race is open and it looks like we may finally get a R there.

Bush only lost by 144,000 votes out of 5.8m votes cast. Just as close as Ohio.

Hillary won 1,273,764 votes in PA. One eight of them would be almost 160,000. If they go for McCain, he could win.

Great Post. McCain’s economic team needs to come up with a easy to follow economic plan that starts with Drilling and low Taxes, and then hammer it home!!

Exactly what he needs to do. Simple. Keep taxes low, and drill.

Hillary’s boy Mr. Ed would have delivered the Keystone on a silver platter.

Now he’ll just keep the Philly machine in 2nd gear and shake his head afterwards “I did my best but 0 just can’t win in Penna.”

I didn't know JC said that, but he's a damn smart serpent head. "New" voters never pan out. They didn't for Howie Dean, they didn't for Algore, they didn't for Kerry, and they won't for the Messiah.

My only concern was OLD Bush-hating voters.

The Indiana numbers haven't been updated since early July.

McCain won't win Indiana by as much as GWB did, but he will take it by double digits.

Obama just made the following comment, "You can put lipstick on a Zogby, but it's still a Zogby.".

PS: I left out all the ers, pauses, you see, I mean, you know, she says etc in order to stay under 8000 characters

These are Internet polls. Zogby released a poll for North Carolina for this same time period that has Obama ahead. Garbage.

Yes, but you do understand it’s not a typical “internet poll” where people just go and vote like when CNN puts a poll up on it’s website?
Zogby’s internet poll is different, there is some science behind Zogby. Whether it’s good or not is anybody’s guess.

He also has Obama up by 1.5% in New Mexico and by 2% in Colorado, which stinks, but are no cause for panic at this point.

Those numbers are actually going down. They were up more than that a couple of weeks ago. This is great news. We’re moving the right way! Will be good to see what happens the end of the week....and after McCain get Obama to finally debate!

Or even if those people stay at home or vote for third parties and McCain keeps President Bush’s votes in 2004.

One more thing: it's utterly silly to think you are going to make a difference on the DEM side with "black voters." They voted 93% for Kerry in 2004. Ok, so that's 7% who didn't vote Kerry, mostly confined to the south (where there will be no impact at all), NYC, Chicago, LA, Philly, NJ, and DC. Let's say, for argument, that 90% of all remaining black voters are in the south and the areas I named. Of those, only Philly has any role whatsoever in the election, as IL and NY and CA and NJ will always go Dem. So let's say that of all those named, the black voters in PA account for 5% of them.

That's 5% of 7%. I'm not good with math, but I think it's .35% of the total voting population---and it assumes ALL the non-Dem-voting blacks in 2004 will vote Messiah. That's going to flip which states exactly? Is it even going to affect PA?????

The Zogby polls have been amazing this year.

Is that because they poll most lefties?

Some of my friends, who normally don't discuss politics, have recently commented to me about Palin and the raw deal she is getting from 0bama and the press.

And they see no distinction between the two.

A positive sign that PA is turning away from 0bama.
