As of right now, there are three areas with Tornado WARNINGs (It means there is one, not just “conditions favorable”) approximately 300 miles AHEAD of Ike in Arkansas, and ONE Tornado Warning trailing it in Texas (that is unusual).

I'm not going to monitor all of these and post them here. I suggest for the time being, if Ike is within 300miles or so of you that you hit this link occasionally to check your local area:

Report on Galveston family who didn't heed the evacuation warnings. They made it by piling into their boat and floating up to the San Luis hotel at 1am.

In the first three paragraphs... this morning "Officials were overheard fretting that many people did not survive the storm." This report is from the Galveston County Daily News.

I appreciate the heads up. My weather radio here in northern Alabama hasn't gone off. Last I saw on NOAA Ike is supposed to stay to the west of here out in Arkansas, Mississippi, and west Tennessee.

Can you come back in a few weeks when our Fall tornado season starts and keep me updated cause I'm terrified and hate those D@MN things! ;^)
