As the rain cleared, and the sun began to rise, Key peered through the lifting darkness anxious to see if the flag they had seen the night before was still flying. And so it was that he scribbled on the back of an envelope the first lines of a poem he called Defense of Fort M'Henry

That possum was persistant! Kept it’s face thru the opening the whole time. After I put Chance in the house it scurried thru and ran the fence line out to the fields. Sure was a big’n critter!

Best deer hunting is in the hill country here.

There aint no deer around DFW. Well, there are few. I havent seen one here in 15 years though I have seen tracks in the riverbottom

Seriously. I am no hunter and Tx sucks for hunting anyway.

Arkansas and Oklahoma and By Golly Tx are however great fishin spots

I think I only seen 2 coyotes here in 15 years.

Saw lots of deer in hill country. DFW is awful for hunting, but good fishing
