I saw on the news a little while ago that it's deadheading right at Houston.

We're gonna get whacked.

I appreciate your efforts to comfort. I never saw a huge pine tree uprooted before Rita...these were uprooted at the ground. I had azeleas in the air... that were planted around the trees. I'm talking BIG pine trees...wouldn't fit on a log truck length wise.

By the time we got home (4 weeks) the trees were gone but I had 7 stumps on the ground with roots and azeleas in the air.

Things will never be back to "normal."

FYI, ABC channel 13 just announced that due to their continuing coverage of hurricane preparation, the first segment of the Charlie Gibson interview with the next VPOTUS will be aired at 6:15. (less than one hour from now).

I’m in NW Harris County in Cypress, TX and will be hunkering down.

I boarded up for Rita, then saved the labeled plywood for future use. It took a good 20 hours to measure, cut and place the plywood for Rita - my neighbors all worked together to do three houses.

We unpacked the plywood from the back of the garage and boarded up all three houses in 3 hours this afternoon.

We are much more prepared than we were for Rita and I am afraid that we will need it this time.

They are threatining again that this storm will “overtop the Seawall”. Has not happened in 100 years.

My son in law had knee surgery this morning and he and my daughter are staying in place just n of Houston..I am praying all are safe..If they have long term power outage I expect them to come here to Central Texas after it is safe and my SIL can travel..
