(CNN) John McCain's campaign released a new ad Wednesday that portrays Democratic operatives as a vicious wolfpack hunting VP nominee Sarah Palin.
The attacks on Governor Palin have been called completely false misleading, says the female announcer in the 30-second spot, which points to a report from Factcheck.org shooting down many attacks on the Alaska governor. And they've just begun.
The announcer cites a Wall Street Journal column that 30 Democratic lawyers and researchers have been air dropped Alaska to conduct dig dirt on Palin.
That column, by pundit John Fund, cites anonymous sources in reporting that unnamed Democrats have descended on the Alaskan capital of Anchorage. The Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign have denied sending anyone to Alaska to conduct research into Palins past.
As Obama drops in the polls, he'll try to destroy her, says the announcer, as images of a wolfpack appear on screen. "Obama's politics of hope? Empty words."
The McCain campaign said the ad would be airing in key states, although it did not say where, or how extensive the buy would be.

Wolf pack? An insult to Wolves. Should have used sharks.
That’s gonna leave a mark!
With frickin' lasers on the top of their heads.
“There are so many new ads out there, Team BO doesn’t know which to defend against first.”
The BRAVE NEW WORLD of the Apple Laptop, where you can create new media while you’re sitting on the plane going to the next stop....
I love the wolf footage, right when they said lawyers.
In my world, that ad would have ended with Palin wriggling her toes on a wolfskin rug.
It is (Juneau). The mistake is CNN’s, not McCain/Palin’s...
And especially hilarious given Palin’s documented support for aerial wolf culling. Mangy Dems don’t stand a chance.
Flying sharks?

(The first two are the best, the kittens and dogs are kinda lame.)
"Did you ever wonder why Mr. Obama is spending his time and energy running against the Republican Vice Presidential nominee? The answer is simple: when you stack Mr. Obama's experience and accomplishments against John McCain, there's no contest: John McCain has done much, much more. On the other hand, Sarah Palin also has more executive experience, and has accomplished more, than Mr. Obama has."
Seriously! I’ve never seen a Republican campaign hammering like this.
Every day they load up the cannons with another deadly barrage of grapeshot. They launch a devastating attack on one issue, then by the time there’s a response from Obama, they’ve already hit somewhere else. TV, Youtube, speeches.
They are seriously tearing up the Democratic campaign to shreds.
How about a link to the ad.
Here’s the ad that McCain should run....a private jet lands, with a bunch of fancy-shoed Democratic players in ties and $500 suits emerge. They wear fancy sun-glasses and get into 30 separate SUVs next to the jet. They drive to a typical Alaskan town.
The 30 men walk in and ask for the best room that a lodge has....and they are shocked at the Americana images (pictures of Teddy R, Babe Ruth, and B-52s).
They walk into the corner cafe to have a “real” meal and the lady insists that meat loaf is the special and they ought to eat up....and she’s got lots of homemade apple pie later. They grumble and throw a tirade about the quality of food. An old GI with a patch over his eye and wears a military style jacket eyeballs them.
They run around the town....asking the town barber for gossip on Sarah...then the local butcher....then the town mechanic....and even the Russian guy who doesn’t speak any English but he proudly shows his visa and $7k watch.
The 30 men waste five days driving around...with half getting lost in the outback. Two guys get clobbered at the local bar. And six guys are chased by a pack of wolves.
In the end...they board the private jet and fly back to the east coast. A booming voice can be heard as they debrief with the Democratic chief...and several of the 30 men are weeping. They weren’t able to get the “dirt” that the chief wanted....and the campaign is lost...just plain lost. And there in the far back...in the shadows...stands the one-eyed guy from the diner...smiling.
Note the second-level subtle imapact too: Obama has been using a video of people shooting wolvws from an Alaskan floatplane....
And the wolves (on the ground) have been killed with each shot.
He can't do anything else though! McCain's last few ads purposefully set up the whole Obama vs. Palin dynamic. He wants to keep Obama on the defensive tied up with Palin controversies. Obama comes off looking lousy, but McCain seems Presidential and above it all.
Rush is right... he is McBrilliant LOL
I was reading through some of the comments on the site... What a pack of rabid, whining, weenies!!
I love all the “I was going to vote for McCain, but not now” comments. Uh huh... Yeah, sure you were, LIARS!
I wonder what Rove would think of this. He’s very good at picking the meat out of what’s going on. Rush is good at that too. They sort of understand how the electorate thinks and reacts to things.
Rove has been saying that Obama’s weak spot is that he keeps saying he wants to “change” things. By getting him to respond negatively, Rove says he will destroy himself.
The Clintons started this, by the way. Both Morris and Rove said Hillary’s goal was to drag Obama into the mud, and once he did that, his image would be ruined. And no one can mudfight like Hillary. I almost respected her for that.
Maybe if CNN realized that...
...Alaska is an actual U.S. state...
...and that Juneau is an actual state capital (no, CNN, it's not Anchorage);
...and maybe if the Washington Post (with its Palin article yesterday) actually realized that Juneau is almost out in nowhere's land hundreds of miles from everywhere else in Alaska with no major highway near it and that unique to/from travel & special work-from-home arrangements are unique within a state like that...
...and maybe if the entire MSM actually had normal beat coverage of states like Alaska so it wouldn't have to "scramble" for background info on its governor (I mean we haven't heard of hordes of reporters trekking all over Delaware or counting up Joe's daily Amtrak run travel expenses re: to/fro home to D.C.)...
...THEN maybe, just maybe, there'd be just one less measure of distrust of the MSM treating itself in such unbelievably elitist beltway manners!
Maybe not yet ... but with the proper timing McCain can very effectively remind Americans that Obama is not running against Palin, but against McCain ... for President.
It's a matter of timing, more than anything else, and it's got to occur before Americans get tired of the Obama/Palin dynamic.
