(CNN) Barack Obama accused the McCain campaign of "lies" and "Swift boat" politics Wednesday, after nearly a day of claims his 'lipstick on a pig' comment was a sexist attack leveled at GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin.

“Typical” Muslim.
But it doesn't wash, and if he's at the point where he has to preserve his base, IT's OVER.
Sorry, O, you don’t get to decide which of your gaffes are the stupidest.
One more time...
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!
I am so loving this! The MORON said this on purpose! It was scripted. He called McCain an old fish and then Palin a pig. Words out of Obama's mouth. And as we know:
"Dont tell me words dont matter.." - OBAMA (plagerized from Deval Patrick)
You "swift boated" yourself, pig ears. At least Kerry served...
I don't think the McCain people should make a big deal out of the comment. Even though the Obama people pull this crap all the time, I hate to see our side do it. Obviously, the inference is that since Palin used the hockey mom/Pit bull/lipstick line in her speech, that Obama was referring to Palin as a pig. "Putting lipstick on a pig" has long been a part of everyday parlance, so Obama should not be accused of using the line in relation to Palin. However, had someone said of Obama, "that's like the pot calling the kettle black", Obama and the MSM would be all over that as a racist attack.
At most, it show what a dumbass Obama is. He should have known that the line might be interpreted as calling Palin a pig, so best not go there. Likewise, one should not use "niggardly" in a speech, or call someone a "macaca".
It just implied she's a pig. At least thats how the audience took it, judging by their hooting & howling.
I seem to recall a story yesterday in which a student leader of a college GOP club was forced to step down after making a comment about BHO’s lips.
I cannot believe how the voters in this country have allowed the MSM to TOTALLY DISTRACT US into wasting so much blog and news space talking about insults instead of ISSUES!
The ISSUES are what make the candidates stand apart and SHOULD be the REASON for voting for one over the other.
UGH! Well, what do we expect from a “reality television” and “American Idol” culture?
Pretty soon, they start getting flustered. Then they start saying things like "Enough! I dont care what they say about me." That's when you know they're getting rattled. If they didn't care, they wouldn't bring it up. But you *do* care, and you want it to stop.
Never show your weaknesses in a fight, Barry. It just invites more hits on your soft underbelly. The media did you no favors by going easy on you for so long. Now you're up against 2 months of pain, and I don't think you can hang. You're going to snap and say something stupid. You can't help it. You're just not cut out for this sort of thing.
Obama’s first comment of a new day is to bring up his own silly “pig” comment. Great job of staying on message. Meanwhile, neither McCain or Palin has mentioned it, only their staff. Obama’s making elementary political mistakes. Is this guy a lightweight?
Obama stole the way he walks
He stole the way he talks
He stole the way he wears his care
He stole the way he poses so affably
He stole the way his smile just beams
He stole from Lincoln, Robert and John F. Kennedy
He stole from Martin Luther Kings hopeful dreams
But No, No, the phony cant take my vote away from m
"I have become increasingly uneasy about Obama's efforts to sound folksy and approachable by reflexively using inner-city African-American tones and locutions, which as a native of Hawaii he acquired relatively late in his development...Obama on the road and even in major interviews has been droppin' his g's like there's no tomorrow." -- Camille Paglia
He’s being swiftboated. People are pointing out what he said.
Meanwhile Palin is being SMEARED by the DemocRAT Party Machine and he says nothing.
Well said.
In general I agree with you. But that shouldn't stop us from pointing out what seems to be a pattern:
* Calls woman reporter 'sweetie'.
* 'Subtly' flips off Mrs. Clinton in a debate (his crowd roars with approval).
* Associates Mrs. Palin to pigs/fish (his crowd roars with approval).
Eddie Haskell like denials.
Denials aside, still sounds like the makings of a woman-loathing metro-sexual to me...
Sometimes Barry is too clever for his own good.
You don’t? How could you not? Who else in the this campaign wears lipstick? Biden stopped wearing his weeks ago and McCain doesn’t.
Of course not. She’s isn’t a pig simply because she’s a woman. She’s a pig because she is a lowly kufir. < /s >
It’s not about the comment, it’s about how the crowd perceived what Nobama was saying...they thought he was referring to Palin as a pig.
