Obama: Terror groups have 'legitimate claims'
World Net Daily ^ | September 08, 2008 | Aaron Klein

JERUSALEM – The Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist organizations have "legitimate claims" that are being "weakened" by the violence the terror groups carry out, Sen. Barack Obama stated in an interview today with the New York Times.

Speaking with columnist David Brooks, Obama said the U.S. needs a foreign policy that "looks at the root causes of problems and dangers."

The presidential candidate compared Hezbollah to Hamas, stating they both need to be compelled to understand that "they're going down a blind alley with violence that weakens their legitimate claims."

Brooks was speaking to Obama for clarification on an earlier statement the Illinois senator made implying Lebanese militias should be tempered with enticements.

Regarding Hezbollah, Obama earlier declared: "It's time to engage in diplomatic efforts to help build a new Lebanese consensus that focuses on electoral reform, an end to the current corrupt patronage system, and the development of the economy that provides for a fair distribution of services, opportunities and employment."

Brooks took issue with that statement, writing it has the "whiff" of "appeasement."

"Is Obama naïve enough to think that an extremist ideological organization like Hezbollah can be mollified with a less corrupt patronage system and some electoral reform?" asked Brooks, who said he called Obama today to clarify his remarks.

Obama immediately affirmed Hezbollah is "not a legitimate political party." Instead, "It's a destabilizing organization by any common-sense standard. This wouldn’t happen without the support of Iran and Syria."

He continued by stating Hamas and Hezbollah violence weakens the groups' "legitimate claims."

Ya know, there isn’t a dimes worth of difference between the foreign and domestic policies of this commie.
He would treat domestic criminals just like Hamas etc.
Well, they have core issues um, er, you can understand
why mmm they rape and rob, it’s part of their culture etc.

That is a contradiction....To stop violence, you say we need to listen to them....But they must stop violent acts first...before we will listen...

Makes no sense....

Terrorist groups go after what they want REGARDLESS of so-called negotiations....

He does not have a good shot to be elected President. The media polls and their hype do not make it a reality that Obama will be elected President because it is impossible that this is going to happen.

It's time to engage in diplomatic efforts to help build a new Lebanese consensus that focuses on electoral reform, an end to the current corrupt patronage system, and the development of the economy that provides for a fair distribution of services, opportunities and employment.

Where do they hide the teleprompter? Otherwise, this would be: "It's uh, uh, uh, time to engage in diplomatic efforts to help build a uh, uh, uh, new Lebanese consensus that focuses on uh, uh, uh, electoral reform, an end to the.....wait a minute now, I've been up for three days..... current corrupt patronage system, and the uh, uh, uh, uh, development of the economy that provides for a fair distribution of....cmon, now, I cant hear my self think over the noise (crickets)......services, opportunities and uh, uh, uh, uh, employment."

Another comparison, He would probably treat hamas et al just
like our domestic underclass, tax the upper 5% of Americans to pay for the appeasement of the minority of terrorists.

He is a national disaster just aching to happen.

According to the Alinsky method if he can make the majority of Americans suffer enough, he can put though the socialist
changes he wants by rubbing them raw and telling them it’s the systems fault and it’s time to embrace socialism.
Sadly, they will eat it up.
He must be stopped, now while it can be done peacefully,
the alternative is later at the cost of blood and treasure.

Those who commit terrorist acts have forfeited all legitimate claims, including the right to continue to draw breath.

“Still, if we are to ever stop the violence we will have to listen to both sides to come to a fair and just solution.”

Yeah...That’s very clear...
You stop terrorist groups by killing their *sses....

You stop political dissention with negotiating and compromise....

Clear enough?

The interview with David Brooks is dated May 16, 2008 on NYT Brooks’ page. If it is so, we should not be too optimistic about the Jews not voting for Obama since there has not been much movement by Jewish voters away from Obama since then.
