You’re going to give him 3 whole years? I was hoping for just months... He can do a lot of damage quickly. Remember his campaign promise to have ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ inacted in the first 100 days.
Thanks Jim, I’m with you my man!!
After Sarah Palin is sworn in on January 20th, 2009, what Constitutional authority will she have? Sadly, other than casting an occasional tiebreaker vote in the Senate of the United States, if one ever materializes, she will have none.
Whose immigration policy will be implemented? Whose concerns over global warming will sway energy policies? Whose intent to change the way politics in Washington work, will rule the day? What does reaching across the isle mean, when Conservatism has the right idea, and it’s titular head is the one reaching out? How do you compromise, when you have the right policy to begin with? Isn’t compromise under those conditions simply another term for caving in to leftist goals to one degree or another?
We are still stuck with a man who less than one year ago over 90% of our forum participants stated they wouldn’t vote for. I think they had a reason. You know they did. I think those reasons are still valid. I think that “WE” not you or just the other forum participants that intend to vote for McCain, have become caught up in Palin mania.
For the first time in a long time, we have a person running for office on a party ticket who says what we have been thinking. Whats more, I think she means it. That is an appealing thing to see. I think it’s great. Sadly, I also think Sarah still has too little experience to be a heartbeat away from being the Commander in Chief. One of the most promising things she brings to the table, is a conservative viewpoint just a heartbeat away from the Oval Office. And then you have to note her experience. Is she ready for this? So far so good.
What does 2012 portend? Will John run again? Let’s say he doesn’t. He steps down and the primary process opens the field to those wishing to follow John into the Oval Office. What did our illustrious Republican compatriots usher in this election season? Their tastes ran toward the type of candidate John McCain represented didn’t they. Is that the type of candidate Sarah Palin is? By 2012, is she a viable candidate? Will you and I even get a chance to vote for her before she is eliminated like our first choices this year were?
I think a lot of folks have convinced themselves that Sarah Palin is the future of this party, a party that continually ignores or even trashes what she believes in. Some of you folks are going to get a real lesson in what the Republican party has become after Palin helps John McCain get elected.
A lot of the leaders who championed and defended Palin, so McCain would be viable, are going to surprise many of you when they let it be known what they really think of her “narrow minded” (not my take on it, but theirs) views down the road. I think a lot of folks are setting themselves up for the big fall here.
Both parties are globalist disciples these days. Both have bought off on the socialist model. Both have become green, to one degree or another on most issues.
Good luck Sarah. Wait until you get an ear full of what some of these Republican leaders really think of you after the election.
How soon we forget...
She has that effect on a lot of us ;) With luck, prayers, and continued media ‘help’, the crest of her ‘surge’ will be Nov. 4!
Phenomenally Great post, phenomenally great forum.
Ok. Let’s Roll!
Welcome to FR........
**Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!**
AMEN!
She’s our man!
Bump.
I was happily surprised that he would be willing to pick someone that would be more popular than himself.
I’m just not surprised. Country First. I am just so darn proud of McCain. Even yesterday they were showing McCain and his wife at a small gathering without Gov. Palin. In the background was a black man holding up an Obama T-shirt and screaming over McCain...interupting him. McCain just smiled and kept talking...and the announcer (forgot who it was) mentioned that this is why he needs Sarah Palin on the trail. IF she had been there with McCain they would have been yelling her name....and NOT (probably) yelling Obamas. So, today it was written in the news that McCain will be campaigning more together and not so much apart. Good idea...
Am I happy about McCain? Nope. Am I happy about what I hear Palin say...and how she wasn't liked by the good 'ol boy pubbies in AK? Yes.
She reminds me of Senator Coburn. The state pubbies in control....didn't want him. Guess what? He got elected. He continues to tick off Dim and Pubbie Washington Pol's...We need more like him.
Hey we stopped amnensty before..we can stop it again.
You can help...if you want. Of you can watch.
Thank you.
Thank you for the comments.
Nope.
With the nomination of John Judas McCain, the GOP is gone.
Time to dig new entrenchments to fight from. The old ones have all been overrun by the George Soros-funded enemy.
Conservatism is never going to triumph in this country again until conservatives, and especially and specifically conservative “leaders,” stop compromising principle, deceived (at best) into sacrificing their most precious possessions foolishly on the altar of a false political pragmatism.
Because, in the end, they’re neither pragmatic or principled. They’re simply short-sighted, selfish, and subsumed by the Left’s drive to destroy our free republic.
ditto
great tagline
Welcome to the firefight, Jim.
I see you got that old, trusty flak jacket on.
LET’S ROLL!
Absolutely bang on Jim!
Any conservative worth their salt would have doubts about John McCain before, during and after the primary season, and none of us were very pumped up about McCain becoming the nominee.
Enter Governor Palin.
This VP choice speaks volumes, and what it says is that John McCain believes that if for some reason he is unable to carry out his duties as Commander-in-Chief, that this iron-spined American Thatcher is not only up to the task, but has the character to excel as our President.
I had doubts about her experience level when it was nothing but speculation about McCain’s VP selection, but what I have seen thus far from her reassures me, I am confident in what she brings to the ticket, and as you said Jim, the selection of Governor Palin signals the resurgence of conservatism within the Republican Party.
The Vice President of the United States is positioned from the beginning of their term to not only step up to the Presidency if need be, but to carry the banner of their Party at the end of the President’s term, if they so wish.
Truman, Johnson, Nixon, Bush Senior, all first served as VP before reaching the White House. There is no reason to believe that Governor Palin would be unable to follow in their footsteps.
Will there be issues we continue to disagree on regarding John McCain? Sure, and that is to be expected. But what ought to be reassuring us is that with his selection of Sarah Palin, John McCain is sending a signal that he sees the future of the GOP as being that of Palinism, which at this early stage has all the promise of being as vital and dynamic as Reaganism.
I’m on board.
please PRAY every day and encourage everyone you know (family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.) to GET OUT TO VOTE FOR McCain/Palin on Nov.4 !
Thank you JIM ! I never thought I was going to be able to vote for McCain either... I think a new time reference is in order for all of us.. .BP(BeforePalin) AP(AfterPalin)
TOWARD VICTORY !!
