MSNBC TAKES INCENDIARY HOSTS FROM ANCHOR SEAT... DEVELOPING...
Drudge ^
Posted on 09/07/2008 6:33:59 PM PDT by flyfree
MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channels coverage of the election.
That experiment appears to be over.
After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.
The change which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle is a direct result of tensions associated with the channels perceived shift to the political left.
The most disappointing shift is to see the partisan attitude move from prime time into whats supposed to be straight news programming, said Davidson Goldin, formerly the editorial director of MSNBC and a co-founder of the reputation management firm DolceGoldin.

For MSNBC president Phil Griffin the shift to the left is less ideological and more bottom line. In a rapidly changing media environment, he tells the Times Brian Stelter, this is the great philosophical debate...the bottom line is that were experiencing incredible success. HUH?! Is this guy totally delusional or what? His station is the LOWEST amongst the news channels in ratings.

NO. What your idiot comment demonstrates is that you would not know what Fascism is if it jumped up and bit you on the ass! You are the perfect example of the failure of our public schools!
I keep thinking these DUmmies must be teenagers, complete with raging hormones, so I was shocked when one of them identifed itself as a 68 year old!

Gregory adds a veneer of credibility to the biased commentary that will surround him and occasionally eminate from his mouth.

The change...is a direct result of tensions associated with the channels perceived shift to the political left.Perceived? Yeah, perceived because it is TRUE.
So they switch to Gregory, eh? Wow...going from nutroots leftist Olbermann to merely EXTREME leftist Gregory.
Way to moderate the tone, PMSNBC.

It’s simply damage control. The MSMs #1 job is to perpetuate the myth that they are full of journalistic integrity and unbiased in their reporting.
Olbermann and Matthews together was so over the top in their leftist bias, even NBC is seeing the type of potential damage it could do to the abysmal reputation. Again, its all about keeping the illusion alive, not destroying it which psycho loose cannons like Olberman can do. MSNBC is nothing more than a video version of Air America.

Wow... even more terrific than Obama ADMITTING he's a Muslim.
Olbermann and Matthews are like bad guests who overstayed their welcome.

What is really hilarious in all of this is the made-in-passing observation that Olbermann signed a '4 year contract paying 4 million dollars', which in the world of broadcast journalism is absolute chump change, Olbermann should have sought a clause that prohibited anyone from disclosing how little he is being paid because it is just too damn embarrassing.
Of course Olbermann has no shame, so it doesn't matter.
As for Senator Chris Matthews? (har-har-ha-ha-ho-ho!)

And since MSNBC is now so closely tied to NBC News, the critics started seeing the two entities as one. Considering that Microsoft jumped ship a long time ago, thereby effectively removing the MS part of MSNBC, what does that leave?
