Barry Obama has slipped on his own faith by saying "John McCain has not... talked about... My muslim faith"

Of which Stephanopolous carried the water and corrected him by saying "Christian faith".

I think this is a VERY telling freudian slip by Barrack.

I don't think he was afraid. I just think he knew the pain he would go through because of being made of flesh and wanted God to give him a way to avoid it. Obama is not going through any physical pain...he should not be nervous and messing up like this if he has a strong faith. I want someone who has a mature faith leading this country. But that's just me.

If you lose your reputation, how can you win an election?

The Swift Boat Vets turned the election against John Kerry in 2004 because they had and maintained stellar reputations, and because they didn’t fall into the trap of following silly gaffes and rumors. They stuck to the facts, fact they proved convincingly, and they turned the tide in that election.

But get over it: Obama is not ‘admitting’ that he’s a Muslim.

"Freudian slips", by definition, aren't admissions. They're "slips". Hence the term.

Maybe if Mr. Obama didn't have a Muslim name, a Muslim father, a Muslim step-father, didn't grow up in a overwhelmingly Muslim country and register as a Muslim at two schools, didn't receive financial support and political favors from a Muslim adviser to a Muslim Saudi Prince and didn't campaign for a radical Muslim to be Prime Minister of Kenya -- maybe this wouldn't be getting so much attention.

It’s just an odd way to put it, if you are a supposedly dedicated Christian and don’t have any ties to islam.

I think Obama is developing a serious persecution complex.

His ego isn’t taking ridicule very well, and Stephanopolous let it slip BEFORE the conventions started that Internal Democrat Polling isn’t showing good things for Obama. That has undoubtedly WORSENED since Sarah Palin appeared on the scene.

The pressure is building, and is inexperience at such things shows he isn’t handling it well.

BEST PART? It’s TOO LATE for Dems to replace him.

I don’t think most of us could commit that gaffe even if high on LSD, swamp gas, nitrous oxide or Louisiana cooking (most of which I’ve never been).
