Great speech tonight, if I didn't know any better I believe he channeled Ronnie for a bit...
The first 55 minutes were a yawn. The last five minutes were very good.
It was even better than I expected.
The first few minutes were a bit slow, but as he got going, he really started getting more conversational - the last part was very powerful.
The delegates didn’t realize that if they didn’t react to the protestors the TV viewers couldn’t hear them.

I was expecting to find kudos after kudos on this thread! A great speech! The ending gave me goose bumps! Awesome delivery!
I loved his perspective on how his service in VietNam didn’t make him worthy of the Presidency, but put him in debt to the nation.
Playing “Barracuda” afterward was a nice touch ... :)
The entire speech was 45 minutes...
I know he scored with the vets. I got choked up a couple times.

If you thought they were a yawn, I have to respectfully disagree.
It was not an attack speech, and it should not have been. It was not a speech that will be talked about for generations, but it was a very very solid speech, and it will play well.
He showed himself, and why he was on that stage, and it was not a cult of personality like Fauxbama, it was about service.

I’m not sure what I think. Unlike most here, I have been for McCain from the beginning because I thought he gives us our best chance. Still think so. Maybe I am drained of all adrenaline after last night, but I thought the delivery - until the last 5 minutes - was flat, and that background - lime green and then blue was ridiculous. He is a patriot and a hero and should be the president given the options, but it won’t be easy. God bless him - hearing that story, there is no doubt that he is a better man than most.
