...Barack Obama reported raising at least $10 million from more than 130,000 donors today after Palin, the Alaska governor, addressed the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, and criticized the Democratic presidential nominee. ``Sarah Palin's attacks have rallied our supporters in ways we never expected,'' Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said. ``And we fully expect John McCain's attacks tonight to help us make our grassroots organization even stronger.''

Thanks for that info. The numbers differ slightly for Obama's July ($66 mil vs. $68.5 mil), but okay. At least we have some data to back up Rush's statement. I'm not sure it's necessarily a sign of weakness for The One, though. The money could have been used to pre-purchase ad buys. I really don't oknw. As of late July Obama was in much better shape regarding debt and cash on hand than McCain.

I know the RNC has been raking in the cash (although I don't know current numbers), which may be why McCain and the RNC are considered to be in better shape than the Obamessiah and the DNC.

Yes, grouping the two (candidate and party org) that may well be accurate. But Obama vs. McCain, as of late July (latest FEC filings), show Obama in significantly better shape.

You may want to recheck your math.

McCain raised more...they couldn’t keep up with the donations, from the guy I talked to. And I donated this morning. They were snowed under. If McCain raised less than 15 million himself, today, I’d be shocked.

More than what? More than that $10 million? Undoubtedly. I just haven’t seen any newer numbers. If you meant something else, please clarify.

Every dollar Barry O sucks down in his futile quest is a buck that a down-ballot Rat is deprived of.

Yes, assuming his quest is indeed futile. He’s an empty toga, but he’s a well financed empty toga that has the media in bed with him.

A week ago, I assumed John McCain was DOA. Then, Sarah Palin came along...

Wow, a different flip of the coin, and it could have been at worst, Joe Lieberman, at best, Tim Pawlenty. The latter would have been boring, and the former would have invited open revolt, which I would have supported.

Funny how things turn on one 'little' decision...

Well financed by the same core of donors. I just cannot help but believe that some of the biggest donors have found ways to hide their illegal contributions... maybe through money bundlers like the PinkO escorted out during Governor Palin’s speech.

What a nightmare we will have to endure if that crowd gets elected in November. Can we possibly be that stupid?

Obama will outspend McCain probably close to 2:1 by the time the election gets herre. And that isn’t even including the free campaigning the MSM will be contributing.

Folks- I am truly concerned.

Doesn’t matter- McCain is capped at $84 million, no matter how much he raises.

$10 Million div. by 130,000 donors = $76,923 each??????

Ummm... you might want to check your own math... It equals $76.92 per donor average.... I think you misplaced your decimal.

Afraid not. McCain is limited to spending $84 million on the campaign. Funds can be donated to cover related legal expenses and accounting costs, but the law he pushed through (because he opted for public financing) limits him to approximately $84 million. The post above with contribution to the victory fund covers those allowable costs I mentioned.

The money is coming in from the Middle East. No reporting on this. None on Tony Rezko, none on Ayers, Wright, corrupt Chicago Machine. This is scary.

Great question: What corruption has he uncovered in his party in Chicago? - Oh there was none? Right?
