I just got in and dvr’d the speech but turned it on anyway, should I go rewind or can someone just fill me in on how it is going? It sounds like he is speaking like Mr. Rogers??

Compared with last night’s lineup, McCain’s a lousy speaker. I just hope he’s not undoing all the good that was done last night.

For conservatives, you're right. But for the independents that he needs to win this election, this is exactly what they want to hear. He is cloaking conservative principles with populist language. Like it or not, in this election, they will make the difference. He is framing himself as the voice of reason. And he's asking the question: Angry Obama or good-ole solid McCain?

He is trying to make it a no-brainer for them for. . . uh . . . obvious reasons.

Jerks are Jerks no matter where they are found.

In case you haven’t noticed, we are on the edge of having someone who hates everything this nation stands for elected as President. We don’t need division right now. Nobody in the running is going to support the views espoused by the “dissenters” , so shut up now and get to work after the election!

That’s the situation here in North Texas, as you can imagine. I have to think that most people at FR who don’t see amnesty as a big deal live in an area spared from this blight. Spared thus far, that is. But, if it’s a major problem in Hawaii . . . that’s incredible.

This is total death of a speech here. Migrant workers. He lost all the goodwill she gained him last night.

He's doing what the presidential candidate is supposed to do - lay out the goals for the administration. And that thing about migramt workers: they could be here legally, with green cards, and recognizing them might help with the Hispanic vote. All of this means something; maybe not to you, but to someone else listening.

Any chance that we can get a close up of the badge.

It looks like an official one, wonder if we can make out the writing on it to see if it is a press pass or delegate pass.

BTW, I think they are having trouble with the teleprompter.

Hey—just because I said it had been getting boring doesn’t equate to not supporting him. I am voting for McCain.

How can you not support McCain/Palin? You’ll give it to Obama?!

I think McCain’s doing pretty well. A little dry in places, but that’s John. There’s plenty of substance and specifics. It’s playing better in my household than 0Bama’s Mondale-esque spiel last week.

Best of all, there’s nary a Greek column in sight :-)

I came kicking and screaming..but I feel good about this ticket now and I KNOW NObama must not become CIC.

Palin gave me the enthusiam I needed.

I think McCain is doing fine with his speech..No one expects great oratory from him.

LMAO I posted the same thing 2 minutes ago! I don’t know why we bother to type when clearly we can tele-communicate.

LOLOL! If we could do that I wouldn't be 300 posts behind every night :)

Why? Because I’m sad he didn’t mention homeschooling?

I would like some of my cash back for educating my own children. I’m not asking for much.

ACLU loving, Illegal Immigrant defending Barr.. lol, that’s funny... I think he is worse on immigration than even McCain. He doesn’t want law enforcment arresting and thinks a fence makes us like ‘East Germany’
