** EXCERPT **
WASHINGTON (AFP)--Democratic vice presidential hopeful Joe Biden on Thursday said his Republican vice presidential rival, Sarah Palin, missed the point in her critical convention speech by not talking about how to fix the country's economic woes.
Biden told CNN television that Palin, the Alaska governor who electrified party faithful, "had a very skillfully written and very skillfully delivered political speech and I was impressed with her.
But, Biden said, she failed to mention "the middle class or health care or about how people are going to fill up their gas tanks.
"I didn't hear a single word about how you're going to get our kids to college; so I was impressed with the speech but impressed with what I didn't hear spoken," Biden said.
Biden, running along with Senator Barack Obama, said John McCain's vice presidential pick did not offer "a single word or phrase about how to deal with the retirement security for people and social security.
"I didn't hear the word Afghanistan or Pakistan mentioned where the terrorists live. Where Al Qaeda is," Biden stressed.

1. He looks defeated.
2. He looks tired. I guess he has been having nightmares.
3. He's a liar. ("didn't use the words 'middle class'", etc.)
4. He's afraid.
5. He looks defeated.
You said he looks defeated twice.
He's twice as defeated as he is tired.
This is like the KO’ed boxer asking “but I thought you were going to hit me with the other hand?”
Did I mention he looks defeated?
I saw a video of Biden reacting to the Palin speech. Something about him now says cutaway, striped pants and stickpin. In other words, things you find in the attic trunk.
Wow in a speech where she talked about:
1. Energy policy and lowering the price of gasoline.
2. Taxes
3. Government spending
She did not talk about the economy? Poor old Joe.
“I guess oil prices and taxes dont effect the economy.”
and I guess talking about small town america doesn’t count just because she never said “middle class”.
wussy response Joe.
But, Biden said, she failed to mention “the middle class”
Sarah Palin IS the middle class.
Confidential to McCain / Palin: answer “WE DID, YOU OLD FOOL. ENERGY. WE SPOKE OF ENERGY POLICY. Solve the energy problem and the economy will rocket. If you want to look at YOUR economic proposals, well ... wasn’t the energy cost ramp-up under Pelosi like an automatic business tax? HOW HAS THAT WORKED, JOE? AND YOU PROMISE MORE OF THE SAME? Party of change! bah!”
He must have been asleep when she talked about developing America’s own resources to get away from foreign oil, as well as what Obama’s expansion of government and new taxes would do to the country..
She could’ve mentioned that economic growth in the last quarter was better than it was during most of Clinton’s Presidency.
So he didn't hear anything like "drill here, drill now", or "drill, baby, drill", or the like????
Poor Joe Biden.
Several runs at the Presidency and over 30 years in the Senate just to prepare for getting his butt kicked in a VP debate with a moose hunting hockey mom from Alaska.
You rape the kids'/parent's wallets for the priveldge of brainwashing them with liberal pap!!!!
Precisely.
Hey, Plugs. It's not my damn job to put YOUR kids through college. It's my job to put MY kid through college. HANDS OFF MY MONEY.

News flash. If we drill for more oil and build more nuclear reactors, that will create a lot of new jobs and presto the economy heats up again.
He has a very valid point there; she should have mentioned the economy. Since it's the Senate and Congress that are responsible for spending and Biden and Obama are both members of the Senate it would have been a good time to point out the fact that these two democrats are responsible for the economy. Neither Biden or Obama have gone public with a specific plan to help the economy beyond raising taxes to pay for a bunch of socialist programs, raising the minimum wage, and allowing illegal immigrants to collect social security.
I would have liked for her to point out all the Biden and Obama have done to bring down the price of oil and control inflation.
