What did we see tonight?
Tonight, we either saw a watershed in American politics, a tour de force, the most striking and graceful debut in our nations political life, and a national introduction that makes Barack Obamas 2004 convention address look like small potatoes or we saw what we wanted to see, and the countrys persuadable independents saw something else. Im afraid to believe. If Im wrong, I dont really know what Americans want. I know conservatives are thrilled to pieces, and they ought to be. She knocked it out of the park. I dont think she could have delivered that speech any better. Even if I hadnt suggested a line, I would say that the speech hit almost every note just right. (Did the Obama fans feel this way? Is this what their exultation feels like? Wonderful. Im glad they get to experience it too.)
My e-mail box is thrilled. Cam's Talkbackers are thrilled "you called down the thunder, and now ya have it."

Yes Yes Hockey Moms, and thanks for the confirmation on that, it just seemed like that to me when I watched it again, (ad-libbed)just really comfortable and loose commentary. Going to sleep very happy as a Conservative American!
Maybe the McCain / Palin camp can make posters of this photo and sell them.
THEY SURE DID!
PALIN: "And Ive learned quickly, these past few days, that if youre not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.
But heres a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators:
Im not going to Washington to seek their good opinion.
Im going to Washington to serve the people of this country!
Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people."

Bottom line, Sarah passed with flying colors. Her reward will be a barrage of negative commentary from the MSM. Winning or neutralizing the media is still going to be important. Her response will need to be to win a few selected liberal talkingheads over by being clear, firm, charming with a wry sense of humor (Just like she did tonight). After the first couple of debates I am sure that she will have the reasonable ones turned, which will make the wackos look even wackier.
Go Sarah!!
Piper ‘36!
Good image! But I still say he’s being consoled elsewhere. However if he’s not in the news over the next week (in picture) I’ll have to say you’re probably right.
My guess is Hillary’s very medicated at this point.
I don’t know how you are going to get to sleep. I am too excited!!!
Biden better put some padding in his pants.
“My guess is Hillarys very medicated at this point”.
She was throwin’ back the scotch, I’ll bet.
Thank you for raising TWO sons who decided to serve our country. Please give them my thanks.
Aw, the poor things.
Knickers in a knot for sure. But I doubt they will go for her tooth and nail. They tried that the past week, and she made them look like fools.
She’s now a star - and the media does not do full frontal attacks on stars. The MSNBC crowd might, but they’re clowns anyway and clowns enjoy looking like fools.
No. The word is already going out. Praise. Faintly, but praise. And then the little attacks. A dig here, small critiscism there, a false rumor, a snide comment. Death by a thousand small cuts. And concentrate on McCain. Hit him. Leave her alone as much as possible. Hope and pray she steps in it on her own.
It won’t work, but for the media the alternatives are worse. They are more vulnerable than she is. They’re phonies living a lie. She’s the real McCoy.
Lamps ‘R’Us will be getting a call tomorrow morning, for sure.
My wife indicated earlier in the evening that her speech writers found Sarah easy to write for. I can believe it.
“The libs are calling her ‘sarcastic and mean’.”
They don’t know the difference between ‘sarcastic and mean’ ... and sarcastic and honest!

I shave with a strait razor and that is what Sarah reminds me of. If your not careful it can cut you real deep and you don’t even realize it until you see the blood. Shes one tough lady which makes her obvious femininity even more appealing, quite a package.
“We have a mildly autistic son. The way Mrs. Palin talked about Trig brought tears to Mrs. GBCs eyes.”
I have an year old son with Downs. I’m a pretty hard nosed guy. I got choked up before she really even said anything.
11 year old.
oops
