What did we see tonight?
Tonight, we either saw a watershed in American politics, a tour de force, the most striking and graceful debut in our nations political life, and a national introduction that makes Barack Obamas 2004 convention address look like small potatoes or we saw what we wanted to see, and the countrys persuadable independents saw something else. Im afraid to believe. If Im wrong, I dont really know what Americans want. I know conservatives are thrilled to pieces, and they ought to be. She knocked it out of the park. I dont think she could have delivered that speech any better. Even if I hadnt suggested a line, I would say that the speech hit almost every note just right. (Did the Obama fans feel this way? Is this what their exultation feels like? Wonderful. Im glad they get to experience it too.)
My e-mail box is thrilled. Cam's Talkbackers are thrilled "you called down the thunder, and now ya have it."

Hillary tries too hard to be a man. When women try too hard to act like men, they come off as... well... that word that starts with a B.
A woman’s strength comes from a different place in her soul. Women are strong, men are powerful. It’s similar but different.
Reagan would love Sarah. Much like him, people will love her for who she is vs. picking her because she is less evil than the other guy.
McCain is like a stealthy ninja, he has struck the Obama campaign a deadly blow with his choice of Sarah. The fawning Obama worshiping media looks completely flummoxed and frustrated that she brushed aside their character assassination attempts and preceded to drop atomic elbows off the top rope on Obama during her speech.
McCain was loving it. Remember when only one reporter showed up to see him when Obama was making his European victory tour? The MSM thought they were calling the shots on this election. McCain just changed the game with one move.
I am now mega excited about McCain/Palin and can’t wait to see them win the election!!
She is Ronald Reagan all over again—completely natural, humorous, focused, and brilliant.
I can’t add to what’s already been said. Wow! is right.
But I will say that when McCain came out and spoke his half dozen words, confirming his faith in her, he did it perfectly, too. Couldn’t have been a better cap to the evening, with the whole family—husband and kids—especially that delightful youngest daughter.
What an evening!
Wow.
Glad to see you speak and please say more. God bless you and your sons and thanks for your families service.
What a wonderful and happy night this is! Rudy was fabulous but I had so many butterflies for Sarah before she started speaking. I have been smiling ever since.
Thank you John McCain for picking this woman as your Vice President and for goodness sakes....... listen to her!!!!
Just like Reagan, she has the ability to deliver a speech and sound like she is having a normal conversation. Nothing forced. All natural and genuine delivered by someone very comfortable in their own skin.
I think
Would work better with that dirge.
Sarah Palin is a gift from heaven. I can see her right now giving campaign rallies in places like Scranton, PA and Toledo, Ohio that will make the Obama rallies look like Amway meetings. These people are going to go nuts over her!
Hillary Clinton...she is every man's ex-wife or mother-in-law. Sarah Palin...she is the wife (or mother) that every man wants! And many of the women are going to love her too.
Now Sarah will never completely win over the Hillary pantsuit crowd due to her pro-life, pro-country politics, but that's okay, we'll have plenty of others that will put McCain/Palin over the top in November.
Speaking of pantsuits, wasn't it a refreshing change to see a woman politician in an actual skirt with high heels? And look good in them too!
It might sound blasphemous to some but I think we are looking at a female version of Ronald Reagan here.
Oh yeah, and Todd Palin is the second luckiest man on the planet! (I have to say that because my wife might be reading this thread later on)
Welcome.
History often presents the right person at the right time. I cannot explain how it happens, but a single person can have a tremendous effect on events. I think we saw that tonight. She is the right person for the Republican party at the right time. I have gained a lot of respect of John McCain for picking her. (I never thought I would say something like that about McCain.)
That is the Theme “The HERO vs. the ZERO”
That is the Theme “The HERO vs. the ZERO”
I took a quick trip to the DUmp to look at their live speech thread. They were in complete meltdown.
That hand symbol also means something to old school Jersey City kids like me.Also very appropriate for Obama as well.
it is too late for condi. The state department has turned her brain to mush.
Looked more to me like she was slaughtering a Donkey to feed to her sled huskies.
She’s aces. And a total badass. Just the killer we need at Number 2. I’m thrilled.
Tonight :
Sarah Obama
Nonsense. Griffy wishes he could do that to a ball.
I can't believe that after the week she's had of brutal, undeserved attacks, she chose not to come out defending herself.
Instead, she pretty much ignored all the smears (and Joe Biden!) and came out throwing connecting haymakers to the point of Obama's and the MSM's chins!
She actually, literally took Obama and the Media off at the effing knees, with humor, charm and a lovely smile. Ouch.
Just damn.
Get the popcorn... screw that, buy STOCK in popcorn... this is going to get real fun REAL fast! Her and scowling, snide Joe on the same stage in a debate???!!!! HE'S A DEAD MAN WALKING!
There's no way he can win! If he wins, he loses... but he doesn't have what it takes to out-maneuver her in the first place. I'm sending a wreath to the Obama campaign in the morning with a "condolences" letter.
Palin/? 2012.
