Obama might pursue criminal charges against Bush
Guardian ^ | September 03 2008 | Elana Schor

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said yesterday that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.

Biden's comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

But his statements represent the Democrats' strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued," Biden said during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, according to ABC.

"[N]ot out of vengeance, not out of retribution," he added, "out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president -- no one is above the law."

Interesting question. I would assume the Current Speaker, on Jan 21st would be sworn in and serve the entire term.

Suspect you've uncovered a gap in the Constitution.

“”If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued,” Biden said during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, according to ABC.

“[N]ot out of vengeance, not out of retribution,” he added, “out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president — no one is above the law.”

Obama sounded a similar note in April, vowing that if elected, he would ask his attorney general to initiate a prompt review of Bush-era actions to distinguish between possible “genuine crimes” and “really bad policies”.

“[I]f crimes have been committed, they should be investigated,” Obama told the Philadelphia Daily News. “You’re also right that I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt, because I think we’ve got too many problems we’ve got to solve.”

> Well, that’s reaching across the aisle for ya. Or, stepping across the aisle with a jackboot. I guess the goal is to put everyone that opposes THE ONE in jail. Maybe that’s what he means by “post-partisan” politics. If there’s noone on the other side, there’s no partisanship.

The Communist purges of the American form of government begin January 21st, 2009, it seems.

Notice he will NOT be pursuing criminal charges against Bill Ayers, domestic TERRORIST.

Maybe Biden might want to go to a seance and ask Cato how this strategy worked for him and the other Roman Senators when they used it against Julius Caesar.

Some doors are meant to be never opened. But today’s Dems have no clue about history and think that Alinsky’s tactics for radicals have no consequences or blowback possibilities.

Let's see. Is that any less immoral or unethical that a teen pregnancy?

You would think so by all the Left Wing scum who are savaging Sarah Palin and her family. Now, Metmom, until you slap them around until they stop, why don't you just STFU about it?

Obama might pursue criminal charges against Bush

Right after Obama pardons Tony Rezko.

Probably a desperate attempt to stop the flood of former rats currently rushing over to Palin’s side.

Hatred toward Bush is all they’ve got.

The Bush Administration should launch an immediate investigation into Rev. Wright’s church as a “hate group,” and further investigate Obama’s ties to ACORN—something the press seems to think isn’t as important as a candidate’s daughter’s sex life.

maybe a shot across the bow to discourage the DOJ from “making too much” out of anything Rezko’s given the prosecutor in Chicago about BO.

Along those same lines, I always wondered what would happen if a president elect, along with the vice-president elect, were accidentally killed after winning the election in November.

What an interesting scenario:

1. Obama wins election in November.

2. Obama and Biden fly across the Atlantic Ocean on an Airbus to kiss Ahmadinejad's ass.

3. Wings fall off airplane - after all it is an Airbus.

Question: Who becomes President?

If the wings fall off before the Electoral College votes, the electors would be free to choose someone else. However, once the Electoral College has voted and the election has been certified by the House of Representatives, I think the Presidential duties would fall upon The Speaker of The House of Representatives.
